Este reconocimiento tiene para mí un significado muy especial.
Lo recibo con enorme gratitud y con el orgullo de haber dedicado buena parte de mi trayectoria a servir a mi país, Costa Rica, incluyendo el privilegio de representarlo como Embajadora en los Estados Unidos.
También agradezco al congresista Timothy Kennedy por el reconocimiento especial de la Cámara de Representantes de los Estados Unidos otorgado con motivo de esta distinción.
Some moments in diplomacy say more than words ever could.
Representing Costa Rica in Washington reaffirmed what has always guided my leadership: diplomacy is ultimately about people. Lasting partnerships between countries are built not only through negotiation, but through trust, respect, and enduring relationships.
Positions end. The bridges we build through trust remain.
Honored to join senior U.S. government leaders and the diplomatic corps at @StateDept to commemorate 250 yrs of American independence.
A meaningful moment just days after concluding my service as Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United States.
Leadership is measured by the trust that remains after the title ends.
True diplomacy goes beyond mandates and institutions. It is built through credibility, dialogue, and relationships that bring people together across countries, regions, and perspectives.
In a divided world, rebuilding trust is not secondary to finding solutions. It is how solutions become possible.

Hoy sostuve una reunión positiva con la Embajadora de Costa Rica en EE.UU., @CatalinaCRE, sobre la estrecha y duradera relación entre nuestros dos países.
Como presidente de la Subcomisión de Asignaciones sobre la Seguridad Nacional y el Departamento de Estado en la Comisión de Asignaciones de la Cámara de Representantes, la que se encarga de proporcionar fondos para nuestra seguridad nacional y prioridades en el exterior, tengo el deber de proteger los recursos aportados por los contribuyentes estadounidenses.
A medida que avanzamos en el proceso para finalizar los proyectos de ley de financiación para el Año Fiscal 2026, quiero asegurarme de que sigamos apoyando a nuestros aliados que respetan los principios democráticos fundamentales. Mi legislación reconoce los notables esfuerzos de Costa Rica para apoyar las acciones internacionales en la lucha contra el narcotráfico, el crimen transnacional y la trata de personas.
