The recent incident on Green Lane underscores the urgent need for improved road safety.
At Full Council, I called on the Mayor of Croydon to introduce effective traffic-calming measures and provide a proper pedestrian crossing.
We will continue pressing the Council for meaningful action and clear next steps. Our residents deserve safer roads and safer journeys.
Thank you to everyone supporting our campaign for safer streets. Together, we must keep pushing for change.

Mayor Perry’s rash decision to ignore consultation has lost Croydon much-needed funding to make our roads safer.
Instead of game-playing, he should engage constructively with TfL to secure funding to make Croydon roads safer for all.

Dear @JasonForCroydon
I’m yet to receive a response after your post in June I never had and update about the toilets at SN lake. Summer is coming to an end soon.
I’m hearing the toilets are recently open but have not been cleaned. @yourcroydon Can you please get back to me

All of our parks are a priority, and we are investing in parks right across the borough with improvements including new playgrounds, outdoor gyms, cafés and public toilets.
I know officers have been working hard to bring the public toilets at South Norwood Lake back into use, and I have been keeping a close eye on progress. The building has been redecorated ahead of reopening, and the latest update I’ve received is that the toilets should reopen within the next week or so, subject to the final checks.
I’m looking forward to seeing them back in use for residents and visitors very soon.

Deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Professor Jason Arday at just 41. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues, students and everyone whose lives he touched.
At such a deeply sad time, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, kindness and looking out for one another. Every workplace, university and organisation should foster an environment where people feel supported, valued and able to talk openly about their mental health and wellbeing, without fear, judgement or stigma.
Behind every title, position and achievement is a human being. We must continue building organisations and communities where caring for people and their wellbeing is at the heart of what we do.
RIP Jason Arday. My thoughts are with all those mourning his loss.
