Despite saying otherwise, the separatist Parti Quebecois sought a meeting with the Trump administration in February this year, American officials have said.
The State Department informed its consulates in Quebec that the PQ sought a meeting with State Department officials, according to the U.S. embassy in Ottawa.
The PQ offer a slightly different account: “The possibility of the trip was mentioned to the consul’s team, but no steps were taken — nor was any contact made with the U.S. administration.”
It came amid heightened tensions over trade between Canada/U.S.
Ultimately the meeting never happened.

Says someone who’s never conducted a proper interview with a world leader in his life. NY Times, like all reputable news organizations, does not provide questions in advance, ignore this idiocy.
The more I read the NY Times interview with Carney, the more I’ve come to the realization of just how curated and manufactured the questions were.
I’m almost certain Carney got these questions long before this interview. This was an anti-America / anti-Trump propaganda piece. A question about the world’s reserve currency changing? Really? The U.S. invading Canada? Running around the world looking for Countries with similar “values” to trade with.
It’s no coincidence this came out before the midterms and right after the UN summit.
The globalists want their new world order and will stop at nothing to achieve it.
Very useful. Thank you for this!
NEW: We just published the full transcript of our @nytimes hourlong interview with PM Carney, all 8,000+ words of it.
This is to enable our readers to get a sense of the range and depth of the conversation.
