The Pope’s Prayer intention for the month of August is to pray for the evangelisation and the spread of the Gospel in cities and urban areas. “We know that cities are called to be places of freedom and opportunity, but they can also become spaces of anonymity and isolation. That's why today, we ask you, for a renewed gaze, able to discover, in urban life, fertile ground for proclaiming your Gospel. Give us a creative and deep faith that doesn't remain in words, but becomes flesh through simple and loving gestures. Make us a Church that goes forth, able to reach out to the peripheries, to console those who are lonely, and to sow fraternity and connection instead of giving in to indifference.”

Christians: as you celebrate Palm Sunday this year, remember your brothers and sisters in Jerusalem who are being prevented from doing so.
🌿 This is how the streets of Jerusalem looked during this year’s Palm Sunday procession! Silent, empty of olive and palm branches and the faithful’s cheers, Yet, the Patriarch invites us to welcome the King with hearts pondering the love that never gives up, but freely and faithfully gives of itself, trusting in …”The final word of God, the empty tomb…The Lord who goes before us…leading us toward a peace that is not an illusion, but the fruit of the cross”. As we begin Holy Week, let us learn to not only mourn with Christ but hope with him, “ For the same Jerusalem that rejected the Prince of Peace has also witnessed the empty tomb”.

Speaking from Jordan, the former Custos of the Holy Land makes an appeal for a “great gathering for all” in the name of peace and an end to violence in the Middle East, stressing that the only weapons Christians should use are "prayer and fasting." vaticannews.va/en/church/new…

The cries on the far right from people who say that Alex Pretti wouldn't have brought a gun if he was planning on peacefully protesting are tremendously hypocritical. 2/

I impeached Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, those were my articles of impeachment that passed in the House of Representatives. I unapologetically believe in border security and deporting criminal illegal aliens and I support law enforcement. However, I also unapologetically support the 2nd amendment. Legally carrying a firearm is not the same as brandishing a firearm. I support American’s 1st and 4th amendment rights. There is nothing wrong with legally peacefully protesting and videoing. MAGA, consider it like this. We lost our minds when we watched Biden’s FBI track down and aggressively carry out home invasions and arrest on peaceful J6’ers who walked in the Capitol through open doors. Imaging if one of our MAGA independent journalists or even just a MAGA supporter stood in the street outside a J6’ers house while Biden’s FBI carried out a law enforcement operation, home invasion, and arrest. Then Biden’s FBI goes to the MAGA guy videoing it all and shoves a woman with him to the ground and sprays them with bear spray then throws the MAGA guy to the ground as MAGA guy was trying to help the woman off the ground. Then Biden’s FBI beats MAGA guy on the ground, disarms MAGA guy, and then shoots him dead. What would have been our reaction? Both sides need to take off their political blinders. You are all being incited into civil war, yet none of it solves any of the real problems that we all face, and tragically people are dying.

BREAKING The Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jersualem have issued a letter CONDEMNING 'damaging ideologies' such as 'Christian Zionism' In a stunning statement, they lament those who 'have misled the public' and who have an agenda which 'may harm the Christian presence in the Holy Land ane the wider Middle East'

Though the Jubilee year is drawing to a close, the hope that we have sought and received does not end. We always need hope, for without it we are dead; but with hope, we are born and renewed. It is more powerful than threats and violence, because hope generates life in God. #JubileeAudience

I just experienced a beautiful moment here in Beirut, Lebanon. I was sitting in a coffee shop in the city, watching live coverage of the Pope’s arrival on my laptop. Across the room, I noticed two young men huddled over a phone. Curious, I walked over and realised they were also watching the live images of Pope Leo XIV landing in their country. To my surprise, they told me they were both Muslims, and then warmly invited me to sit with them so we could watch it together. When I asked what they hoped the Pope’s visit would bring to Lebanon, they answered simply, "peace". 🇱🇧 🇻🇦

Christ is King! Now and Forever! Today, the Solemnity of Christ the King was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925 with the encyclical ‘Quas Primas’ amidst the rise of secularism and totalitarian regimes. It was meant to reaffirm the kingship of Christ over all aspects of life, both personal and societal.

You can love the Church without loving Jesus. You can love devotions / liturgy without loving Jesus. You can love doctrine without loving Jesus. You can love an experience or community without loving Jesus But loving Jesus is the only one that matters in the end.

And yet the Republican Party sent us multiple reminders to vote early and mail in. Whatever.
Trump is trying to use the NON-EXISTENT 'rigging' of the 2020 election HE LOST to ban ALL mail-in and early voting--and to claim California's Prop 50 redistricting referendum will have "Millions" of phony ballots. No evidence. No proof. Just the usual nonsense from POTUS.

"The evidence is now in. The explosive growth in sports gambling is bad for sports, and — most important — it has proved to be bad for the millions of Americans who gamble past the point of prudence and move directly to the point of pain. The sports gambling revolution needs more regulation. It may even need termination." nytimes.com/2025/10/26/opini…

You just lost us, @DisneyPlus. Price for “ad free” version is jumping “$30* a year after jumping $20 last year. And there are ads. Before the movie (not Disney trailers) and DURING THE MOVIE.

Why the heck would I pay $190/year for this? Ad free doesn’t mean ad free. And I know you warned us that you could start placing some ads in our “ad free” premium subscription. I put up with trailers for Disney content before movies. But this is ridiculous.

We won’t renew. Your promotions lie. There is no ad free version of your product. And it’s certainly not worth $190/year. #D23 #DisneyPlus #adfree #Disney #DisneyPlusPremium #toomanyads

Replying to @Dominican_Order
@Dominican_Order celebrates and gives thanks today for the Canonization of the "Apostle of the Rosary", the lay Dominican Saint Bartolo Longo, with a Letter from the Master of the Order, and reflections on the General Curia's website. An extract: "Br. Lawrence Lew, OP, Promoter General of the Rosary, emphasized that Longo’s conversion reflects the Dominican mission to preach both mercy and truth. “St. Bartolo’s conversion shows us that three elements, at least, must be in place for the miraculous work of conversion to take effect,” Fr. Lawrence said. “Firstly, the prayers of others for him, the communion of saints at work. Secondly, the challenge of a genuine friend moved by the Holy Spirit. Thirdly, an openness to grace and a response of repentance.” He added that Longo’s lifelong devotion to the Rosary flowed from that same grace. “St. Bartolo depended on the promise of Our Lady that ‘one who propagates my Rosary shall be saved,’ and so in reparation for his sinful past he devoted his life to making the Rosary known,” Fr. Lawrence said. “The Rosary is nothing more or less than a sacred preaching of the good news of salvation.”" op.org/satanic-priest-lay-do…

It’s official the Church has seven new Saints! Just moments ago in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV pronounced the Solemn Formula of Canonisation and raised to the altars the martyrs Saints Ignatuis Maloyan and Peter To Rot, as well as Saints Vincenza Maria Poloni, Mother Maria Carmen Rendiles, Maria Troncatti, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, and Bartolo Longo.
