When being just and honest comes at a price, pay it. When forgiving seems like a defeat, forgive. When everyone tells you to think of yourselves first, do not be afraid to put yourselves in the last place. Be willing to give up time, money, comfort and plans to serve others. May those who see you find themselves asking: β€œWhy do they live in this way? Where do they get this freedom? Why do they love one another so much?” #ApostolicJourney #Uruguay

What makes the Church’s defence of human dignity coherent across abortion, family support, healthcare and the end of life? Pope Leo has just connected the dots on the first day of his South American Apostolic Journey. Speaking to Uruguay’s authorities on 6 November, Pope Leo explicitly defended unborn children, the responsibilities of fathers, support for families, access to healthcare and care until natural death: "Protect life at all stages". The Pope makes the essential point that a child does not acquire dignity by becoming wanted, a patient by recovering, or an elderly person by remaining independent, their worth precedes our preferences and survives the loss of their abilities. This is why Catholic social teaching challenges the increasingly familiar assumption that dependence diminishes a human life. Every one of us began by relying entirely on the care of others and none of us can be certain that we will not end our lives in the same condition. To make autonomy the measure of dignity is therefore to make our worth conditional upon circumstances we cannot control. The mother who needs support, the disabled person who needs assistance and the dying person who needs someone to remain beside them confront society with a claim that cannot be reduced to a calculation of costs and benefits. They belong to us, and we have obligations towards them, before they have achieved anything or offered anything in return. A civilisation reveals its understanding of the human person most clearly when caring for someone offers no prospect of repayment, because it is then that we discover whether we believe a life is precious in itself or only while it remains useful to someone else. if society trains us (as it seems to be) to see individual worth as being intrinsically linked to self-reliance we are all in serious trouble!

It's appalling that the victory of one party or another means that a private citizen and his businesses, none of which have been accused of breaking the law, would suddenly be targeted by the government. That's pure Third World and should outrage everyone. latimes.com/business/story/2…

The American College of Pediatricians just put out a πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ statement calling out all the major medical associations by name for pushing the gender transition craze on kids. They ask for these groups to "IMMEDIATELY stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex." The full @ACPeds statement ⬇️ "Therefore, given the recent research and the revelations of the harmful approach advocated by WPATH and its followers in the United States, we, the undersigned, call upon the medical professional organizations of the United States, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Β Endocrine Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.Β  Instead, these organizations should recommend comprehensive evaluations and therapies aimed at identifying and addressing underlying psychological co-morbidities and neurodiversity that often predispose to and accompany gender dysphoria. We also encourage the physicians who are members of these professional organizations to contact their leadership and urge them to adhere to the evidence-based research now available.”

The older I get, this is what I see: πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Americans who wish to succeed themselves who want to see everyone use their God-given talents to raise the country up to it’s fullest potential. They don’t care about grievances or division. They see everyone as equals and want everyone to live the dream. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ Americans who want to use the force of government to steal from those who succeed and give it to others, whilst skimming power and money for themselves under the guise of caring… making no personal sacrifice and never moving the needle for those in need. They push hate, envy, and division. Everyone is equally miserable.

It really speaks to the culture that Sam and Mark have built that whatever dudes they put on the floor, they just go out there and play well. It took a few games to adjust but this team looks incredibly competitive again with Kenrich Williams looking like an All-Star now.

My God, she was a prophet: "I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child – a direct killing of the innocent child – murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? … Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. … It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish." Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

β€œWhen the soul enters the kingdom of the blessed, and the barrier which hinders its sight is taken away, it will see openly and without a veil the infinite beauty of God; and this will be the joy of the blessed. Every object that the soul then will see in God Himself will overwhelm it with delight. . . . Happy from their first entrance into heaven, they continue, as it were, lost and, so to say, swallowed up in love, in that boundless ocean of the goodness of God. . . . And knowing that it is sure of ever loving Him, and of being ever loved by Him, this very thing will be its blessedness, which will fill it with joy, and will make it throughout eternity so satisfied with delight that it will desire nothing more.”—St. Alphonsus Liguori

I used to watch and listen to it all: Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, and the rest. But what good does it really do? Nothing. You think you're staying informed, but ask yourself: What can you actually change? Unless you enter politics yourself, your influence is limited. And even then, how long before the very system you're trying to change begins to corrupt you? Constantly listening to political pundits, absorbing their outrage, fear, and division, does nothing but consume your mind. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." β€” Romans 12:2 (KJV) When you learn to see the world through God's eyes rather than through the lens of the world, your perspective changes. You learn to trust Him, stand on His Word, and rest in His promises. "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." β€” Colossians 3:2 (KJV) The world will always have another crisis, another controversy, and another reason to be afraid. But God is still on His throne. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." β€” Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) That's all one needs. Not the world's endless commentary, but faith in the One who holds the world in His hands.

Wanted to say I’m also wishing the best for Cason Wallace. His injury didn’t get as much coverage because we didn’t initially know how significant it was, but you can say the same things about him that we’ve said about Jalen. Good dude. Comes from a great family. Hard worker. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
