Through all of it the bars kept moving. Gold held at the Bank of England rose roughly 192 tonnes between the end of June and the end of September, to about 5,782 tonnes, while the New York Fed's foreign-held pile shed 29.5 tonnes in August alone.
October hike odds closed near 7%. The FOMC decides on Wednesday.

After the Gold window closed, the DOW rallied 4% !!
....
A promise underpinning the international monetary system was being withdrawn, and Dalio arrived at work the following morning expecting shares to fall. The Dow rose almost 4%, giving him an early lesson in how little an apparently reasonable conclusion could tell him about what markets would actually do...

🔥 INDIA REMOVES SILVER IMPORT BAN, PERMITS 209 MILLION TROY OUNCES OF SILVER IMPORTS OVER NEXT 6-MONTHS
After nearly restricting all silver imports mid-May, India has seen large premiums over spot price as domestic supplies remain tight.
Premiums for silver have collapsed from nearly $2.50/ounce last week to 45 cents on Thursday.
The 15% import tax on Silver remains, raised from 6% in mid-May as India tries to support the Rupee.

Who cares about margin when some of the fund managers feeling they are too old and too late to learn commodities, and maybe some dont event know how to spell tungsten? I know someone famous who always predicted a US$30 oil price 😆
CMOC 洛阳钼业 released its Q3 results.
Look at those big fat margins in their mining segments.
80% on Tungsten!!! That's accounting the -16% drop in production coming from Yulu JV.
But CMOC's Tungsten is coming from tailings operations so it's not a good representation of the entire market.
Even a niche metal like Niobium is getting 42.69% gross profit margin.
The Chinese efficiency is unreal.

Gold is absolutely scarce at these prices!
99%+ of gold supplies on earth remain below ground. In the core of the earth.
There are asteroids with gold. There are fusion reactors who can produce this now too.
But gold is scarce because there are limits to what can be obtained.
The core of the earth is impossible to get to. The asteroid fantasies are hundreds or thousands of years away. If even possible today, the propulsion systems do not exist, it would cost billions per ounce.
As far as the fantasy below goes? This is far away in the future with current estimated costs near $1/2 billion per ounce.
Gold remains a scarce commodity. Precious money. Nothing will change in our lifetimes.

The latest COT report on #commodities, covering the week to 20 October, showed net selling extending into a sixth consecutive week, during which the BCOM Index has fallen by 8%.
Once again, the bulk of the selling was concentrated in natural gas and metals, led by gold and, not least, copper. Grains also continued to attract selling, with the combined net long tumbling by 42% over the past four weeks after reaching an unsustainable record above 1 million contracts last month.
Across crude oil and refined products, demand was muted during a week of mixed price performance, with crude rallying while fuel products eased. The Brent net long 242k contracts was in line with the average seen during the past two months, and well below the 430k long recorded at the start of the Middle East disruption.
In softs, all four contracts attracted net buying, led by coffee and sugar, with the latter's speculative net long reaching a fresh five-year high.
