Our team launched trailing stop and trailing stop limit orders in the Clear Street order ticket, giving you more flexibility to manage your trades beyond market and limit orders.
A trailing stop automatically adjusts your stop as the price moves in your favor, then holds its level when the price reverses.
For example, if a stock trades at $100 and you place a trailing stop sell order with a $5 trail, your stop starts at $95. If the stock rises to $110, your stop rises to $105. If it then falls to $107, your stop remains at $105.

The SEC has approved FINRA’s proposal to eliminate the Pattern Day Trader rule.
- No more $25K minimum equity requirement
- No more “pattern day trader” designation or trade counting
- No more 90-day lockouts for crossing the 4-trade threshold
Under the new rule, margin will be determined by market exposure instead of account size.
The change is expected to take effect within the next few months.
CenterPoint’s account minimum has always reflected the premium execution and service our traders rely on. We are assessing the new framework and will announce any updates to our requirements when finalized.
