Bee getting lost in the secret passages while Fitz is away is genuinely quite scary, she is so tiny and being lost in complete darkness where no one could possibly find you because they don't know the way exists is scaryyyyy It's a child-sized nightmare but still good horror

Love the scene where Nettle tries to tell Fitz she'll take Bee away it hurts so good with the grief and the hurt of Fitz standing by Bee where he wasn't there for Nettle and Bee standing up for herself that she wants to stay UGH the sweet family drama I care them so much

I have reached the first Bee POV chapter 🥹🥹🥹 Daughter most beloved she is such an earnesr little thing she deserves the absolute world and I can't wait for the brief time where she and Fitz are alone being a kinda disfunctional family

Fitz being paranoid and dangerous as an adult is so hot to me, I know he must have traumatised Lant that first visit but that was so cool and so is his subsequent secret visit of Chade, can't wait for the meeting with Spark where she also thinks him dangerous

I missed Bee 🥰✨️🐝💜

He is also the worst and never stops lying to Molly for not even any good reason he can name. There is really no fixing him

I adore him, Fitz is so dear to me. What a lad! Little bouts of self-awareness that make him all the more endearing

Insane people remembering the Fool's hands well enough to carve/recognise them obviously as his without even needing to confirm it verbally And then the sharpest envy he had ever felt oh I'm sure, not like there's anything else that could have provoked strong envy in him before

Did not remember Chade's adoptive father being called Rogan Hardhands do we think there's a relation to Cravit Softhands

"my stepmother died and the boys moved out which took us a year to get used to" followed by a paragraph of them getting used to their life and ending in Fitz being horny about Molly JUSTICE FOR PATIENCE she deserved more 😔

Absolute yearner

Immediately delighted by all the stupid ass names in Withywoods, the horse Tallfellow being looked after by Tallerman, Cravit Softhands being Revel's predecessor, I love it

Rated this one 5/5 on my first read, it's a generous 4 on the second I would say, but still my favorite of the rwc series. I liked it alright but thought the continuity to some of the rest of the series wasn't all there. The ending does feel satisfying despite being a bit short.
