Rishi Sunak: not the son of a toolmaker
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
In the unedited clip, the woman tells Rishi “Use this bit”. He asks “Sideways?” and she says “Yes.” x.com/ionewells/stat…

I submitted an FOI request to the GMC asking them about the tax they pay. Turns out, the GMC do not pay tax. They class doctors' fees as charity. They take £500/yr from doctors, pay zero tax on it, and use it to give their staff £250k salaries and private healthcare.

You can't operate as a gardener without a big 4x4 apparently... 100kg in the front (which will also take a lawnmower). Even more with the trailer. (which was loaded with rubble when I saw it!)

"So the activated C1 cleaves C4 into C4a and C4b, which binds to the microbial surface. C4b then binds C2, which is cleaved by C1s into C2a and C2b, forming the C4b2b complex, also known as C3 convertase, which cleaves C3 into C3a and C3b."

I paraphrase but ‘The reason we check BP on hospital inpatients is to monitor for *hypotension*, which can herald many medical problems. Asymptomatic hypertension should not be treated with extra STAT anti-hypertensives as this is associated with *harm*’
Study findings do not support the treatment of elevated inpatient blood pressures in hospitalized older adults without evidence of end organ damage and highlight the need for randomized clinical trials of inpatient blood pressure treatment targets. ja.ma/3NXGLWV

“If doctors aren’t happy with their pay, they should get a different job” Yeah, we are. This is the most striking graph I’ve seen so far regarding the retention of doctors. Full pay restoration or watch the graph turn blue

My dad died on Christmas Eve. He waited for an ambulance for 3 hours before it was too late. He was only 58. I’ve fought my whole life to stop this kind of thing from happening. I admit defeat. It’s over. We’ve lost. The Tories have what they wanted.

When people ask what a collapse of the NHS would look like, it's this, it's already here. It's not going to be bricked up hospitals and no one answering 999, it's going to be lowering standards and rationing care. Acknowledging we can no longer help everyone who calls.

For many, Christmas dinner is a highlight of the festive season and they look forward to piling their plate full of delicious food. If you are a kidney patient on dialysis, your reality is very different. This is just a tiny example of the sacrifices they must make to survive.

.@wesstreeting message to NHS staff is "the cavalry is coming". Thank you again today saying you have called for "months to fix the perverse incentives in doctors’ pensions that are forcing them into early retirement" - GREAT RT if you want to hear @UKLabour plans to fix this

A former minister just suggested ‘the four big beasts’ get together and settle on the next PM. Think about that a sec. 48m had a say in the 3rd PM ago. 150k Tory members on the last. Now they want 4 people to settle it. Notice the direction of travel? #GeneralElectionNow – at Hove, England
