Reminder that on here I don't care what you believe nor who you vote for, but if you appear in my mentions regularly for the sole purpose to troll or just be a general jerk/annoyance, that's a block. I've got a long history of multi-partisanship with action on this philosophy.

"It's free speech!" Sure. Nobody's arresting you.
But the First Amendment protects you from government prosecution, not from criticism. When you organize a ride to target Jewish-owned businesses, the rest of us get to call it what it is: Jew hate.
That's free speech, too. #gapol

“Five minutes spent talking to someone who has never voted generally leads you to the fervent hope that they will continue to never vote in the future.”
It's fun to see Elon Musk waste half a billion dollars to learn a lesson the Great Slate learned for about $7 million. I'll share it again for free!
1. Elections today are highly nationalized, so even local races can absorb unlimited amounts of money without materially affecting the outcome.
2. Door knocking is not a magic strategy for boosting turnout; think about how annoyed you get when strangers come do it to you.
3. Deep conversations about political issues that take place between a community volunteer and a citizen on the latter's front porch exist only in the imagination of progressive think tanks.
4. There is no 'political dark matter' in American elections. Non-voters generally don't vote for a good reason.
5. Five minute spent talking to someone who has never voted generally leads you to the fervent hope that they will continue to never vote in the future.
6. The campaign process can absorb unlimited amounts of money with no effect on outcomes. This is against the conventional wisdom (people believe that $2,600 corporate donations somehow buy politicians) and infuriating if you're spending the money, but in fact a sign of great health and resiliency in American politics.
7. The one factor that reliably *does* get out new votes and change outcomes is a ballot initiative. If you have one of those, you can organize around it.

I’m all for a big tent, but Republicans really need to sideline people who do not understand the point of politics.
Politics is not group therapy. It is not an expression of your id. It is not religion.
The goal is to implement policy. And that requires winning.

This isn’t about being “mean to foreigners”. It’s about explicitly rejecting what makes America what it is.
@HarmeetKDhillon is an American. She has assimilated and represents American values far better than the clueless racist twerps attacking her.
Religious freedom is a foundational American value.
If you can’t differentiate between those who do assimilate and add value to our society vs those who don’t (a legitimate problem) simply because of their skin color or religion, then it’s not America you’re trying to preserve. You’re trying to build a new country that explicitly rejects the very ideals that made America the greatest societal model in world history.

Option 1: be a little mean to foreigners who don’t assimilate
Option 2: lose your county forever
Conservatives pundits really struggle with this.

Dear @Cigna,
Just one time could it be easy for you to cover a prescription. Literally just once. Our pharmacist and pediatrician shouldn’t have to call you every single my 3 year old daughter gets sick to figure why you won’t fill a prescription.
Be better.
We pay you way too much money for you to be this kind of crap.
Sincerely,
Everyone

Austin Scott established a reputation decades ago in the Ga Legislature as a quiet taskmaster. He doesn’t seek cameras or headlines. When he does choose to speak up/out, he makes it count.
Blunt take from Rep. Austin Scott, one of the most senior Republicans left on HASC, in our story yesterday:
“The secretary’s job is to build alliances at home and abroad to protect America. Had he done this, this war would already be over.”

The kicker is the key: "As to “war,” finish the job while we can. And explain why to the American people."
Stop the War?
Time to end the draft and bring our soldiers home from Iran where they are dying by the hundreds in trench warfare and house-to-house combat.
Oh wait. We are not doing any of that. The “war” is a naval blockade to get the Iranians to give up nuclear and terrorist ambitions. At its peak we also had an air campaign directed at military and leadership targets but we stopped it in exchange for fake promises.
Mostly we have been engaged in endless negotiations and memorandums of understandings while the Iranians regained their footing and kept their resolve to kill big and little Satan. The Iranians are so confident now in their success they are not negotiating at all. They killed tens of thousands of their own people to keep their iron grip. They are laughing at America that can’t take a temporary $1 increase in gasoline prices to get rid of the world’s top sponsor of terrorism and instability.
The President should set out his non negotiable demands of no nukes, no strait, no terrorist funding, no long range ballistics, and then resume bombing if they don’t agree until they do.
And democrats want to lower the cost of gasoline? Who could possibly believe that after they spent 20 years choking off the supply of domestic energy over climate change. Check the price of gas in California.
So the current fashion is to end the war with nothing, cut off Israel, and lower the cost of gasoline. That’s a strategy? Enable nuclear and other terrorism that will ultimately swallow the region, travel to Europe and then here? Or stop it now that you can when they are weak and have alienated all the gulf states and go for real stability. That’s an actual strategy that will pay us back for decades to come.
And as to affordability — suspend the gas tax, drop interest rates, suspend tariffs, provide temporary tax breaks for energy use, reform the student loan program and push for big affordable housing programs beyond the recent bill.
As to “war,” finish the job while we can. And explain why to the American people.
Catastrophic flooding overnight in the North Georgia mountains.
I managed to unplug for a bit, visited one of my favorite dinner spots to unwind, mostly ignore social media, and...
We have a real emergency situation developing in the N Ga Mountains. 6-8" of rain in that terrain causes dangerous flooding very quickly. Prayers for them.
