If you describe what is occurring in the US as a “coup” or “fascism,” or refer to the elected government as a “regime” (left or right), I have deep contempt for you.
Your cosplaying as oppressed makes light of the suffering of those who have lived under actual authoritarianism.

Russia is an enemy of America & consistently acts like it. Those who say otherwise are doing so either out of rank ignorance or for malign purposes.
We can't allow gray-zone warfare like this to go unpunished or we will incentivize more of it.
As just announced in the @UN First Committee, Russia’s COSMOS 2612 military satellite has been exhibiting threatening behavior by intentionally maneuvering dangerously close to a commercial satellite, behaviors consistent with on-orbit weapons operations. This violates long-established safety thresholds in low Earth orbit. The United States will continue to secure and defend American vital national security interests in, from, and to space.

My reward for catching Zucman's attempt to fudge his numbers? He blocked me on Twitter.
Halperin is someone who is quite good on this stuff, so I put a lot of weight on what he says.
Republicans who think that the polls are fundamentally off—never a good position to be in—should at least follow him to get a different perspective.
“If you don't like CNN and The New York Times,” says @MarkHalperin, referring to public polls that paint a dire portrait for Republicans, “I can offer you the private Republican polling. It’s all pretty much the same. It doesn’t mean there’ll be a blue tsunami because of the redness of the districts and the states, but it’s not a great landscape.” @LarryOConnor @KevinPWalling

It's not Islamophobia when the guy excuses an attempted Islamist terrorist attack against Jewish citizens of his own state, signed an open letter pushing for Muslim Brotherhood purges of bureaucratic & press officials, & parrots every MB foreign policy talking point verbatim.
The party of the working class portion of the poll is pointless if it is being skewed by a bunch white-collar people indulging in cosplay.
What is helpful is to know what working-class people think. (Although the direction of change may still be informative.)
Really not helping the effort to pretend that Slotkin wasn’t appealing to a segment of the Democratic Party that wants to jail political opponents for participating in politics.
This is one of the “spidey sense” incidents, where something doesn’t add up.
Why would you mail this to children, knowing that their parents are going to be the ones collecting the mail?
A close friend in Texas just received this pamphlet in the mail addressed to HIS CHILDREN.
It targets kids who think they may be transgender and points them to resources on how to:
a) LEAVE THEIR PARENTS
b) How to travel OUT OF STATE for trans care
c) How be EMANCIPATED from their parents at 16
d) Education on hormones and SURGERY
...this was sent to HIS KIDS DIRECTLY

He was not.

“He [Harry Reid] was warned ahead of time there would be retribution. We’re all still suffering from that.”

Kagan isn’t one to shy away from giving her opinion, but I was somewhat shocked reading the reporting on her comments.
Glad to see that my surprise was justified.
Ramesh attended the Kagan interview. Then he read media accounts of it. They didn't match what he witnessed. Guess whom I believe. Hint: not the accounts he read.
In the interest of being fair to both sides, I think the Acton-mom ad and the absurd story regarding Talarico’s disappearance are signs of nervousness from Republicans in those races.
Coordinated stories like this, coupled with the increasing freak out among Dems regarding Michigan and Maine, makes me wonder what Dems internals are telling them.
I’ve been somewhat surprised as, in the last week, Dems have begun being more anxious than Republicans.
A small group of U.S. national security officials has been discreetly advising state and congressional lawmakers on how to prepare for the possibility that the Trump administration will attempt to interfere in the midterms, according to people involved. wapo.st/3WjVke5
One place where Dems haven’t been nervous is Texas.
Which I think is an interesting contrast to what we are seeing in Michigan.
Someone is doing an awful lot of clean up for a statement that she claims was crystal clear.
I have been clear for some time on where I stand on prosecuting corruption and illegal acts.
In a speech a few weeks ago, I said we need to hold accountable the people and institutions who stole billions of our taxpayer dollars and weaponized the government against its people. And we need a list of signature cases that go after some of the most obvious and harmful abuses of taxpayer dollars.
If Kristi Noem steered $200 million in taxpayer dollars to a friend's company to make her TV ads, as GOP sources suggest, she should be held accountable.
If Doug Burgum gave a $13 million no-bid contract for the reflecting pool, he should be held accountable.
And if Jeanine Pirro used the Department of Justice to go after the president's enemies without any legal basis, she should lose her law license, in line with the law.
