"The kind of man you want to take home to mom, Kevin Walling" - hands down the best intro on Fox ever last night by fave @KennedyNation

Looking at the net partisan margin shift of votes cast so far to the same point in 2024 in party registration states, Dems are outpacing '24 in every single state. And Kansas looks... very good (yes, that reads +33.8 Dem).

New: Senate Republicans are weighing three last-ditch spending moves that would have been unimaginable six months ago: a cash infusion for Mississippi and even more money for South Carolina and Kansas

NEW: It turns out, Democrats for Mike Rogers was financed by Republican donors. The group also paid a ex-Dem council member 30k. She went on Fox News to tout Rogers/trash El-Sayed and never disclosed the payment.

🚨Can someone please tell Tina Husted to make sure she doesn’t let @JonHusted out of her sight backstage with @realDonaldTrump…
I believe (and know to be a fact) that Ted Cruz was born in Canada and lived there as a child.
What state secrets has he already shared with our not-so-friendly neighbors to the North?!
I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood.
If he were to win, Chuck Schumer could place him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials.
There would be an unacceptably high risk that the lives of American servicemen and women would be endangered, because there’s every reason to believe El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.

Vladimir Putin is not our friend, and he is certainly no humanitarian. His relentless attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine show his total disregard for human life.
Appeasement won't end this war. Pressure will.
True!
.@KevinPWalling already refers to you that way, @joeldavidsawyer So pick something else.

Judge Alex Sanders has passed here in SC. He was epic in every way. He saved literal rivers. He made the @CofC into a giant. He founded @Charleston_Law. He wrote a cookbook and his quail stew is unbeatable. His loved his wife Zoe and is with her now. He leaves behind a brilliant daughter and his grandsons.
This is a massive loss for not just South Carolina. His passing is a loss for human kind. #scpol #alexsanders

In a new interview, Ralph Norman says he'll stick with his promise to support Darline Graham as the #SCSEN GOP nominee — but:
“My family is not going to vote for Darline Graham. They’re just not."
And:
"No, I would not do an event with her, and I made that pretty clear."

Counter-counterpoint: This race is going to be particularly close and @AnnieAndrewsMD has an actual shot at becoming the first Democrat elected to the Senate since Fritz Hollings in 1998.
Coattails – McMaster won by 8 pts in 2018 (the last blue-wave cycle) and Graham is running on average 5 pts behind the top of the ticket. Coattails flow from the strong candidate to the weak one. They don’t make the weak one safe (especially +7pts safe).
Enthusiasm – Andrews is crisscrossing the state holding large and small events – she’s consolidating Dems (94%) to Graham at 83% of GOP. Graham is uninspiring, often late to the events that she does hold and according to one senior Republican I know, fails to even engage with the people who show up for her.
$$$ - SLF is spending at least $5M for Graham as an “insurance policy.” You buy insurance when you see risk. Nobody buys a $5M policy on a house they think is fireproof. Even with Graham’s affiliated PAC, Andrews outraised (the incumbent) 4 to 1 in Q3 ($9.4M to $2.4). Do a quick search of ads in this race on X and you’ll find Republicans complaining like crazy that all they see are Andrews ads and Darline is nowhere.
Ground Game - A ground game turns out voters who already like your candidate. Graham’s problem is the ones who don’t. Ask her campaign to see her own internal unfaves and you’ll realize the extent of her problem. She only won the nomination by 5 pts over Norman just two short months ago and hasn't done the work to win his folks over.
I’ll take the under at 7pts and loser buys dinner at Halls...deal @joeldavidsawyer?
Counterpoint: This is race is not going to be particularly close. Here are a bunch of reasons why:
1. Alan Wilson is going to have exceptional coattails. He wins by a minimum 10 points, and I think honestly probably closer to 12, despite the environment.
2. By contrast, there is zero interest and excitement in the Dem ticket. Andrews is a flawed and uninspiring candidate. Johnson - who should have been a pretty good gubernatorial candidate - has run an extremely meh campaign. For either of them to have a shot, they'd both need to be firing on all cylinders. The rest of the ticket is a veritable "Who's that?" of Democratic activists.
3. There is outside money being spent here, but not serious money. It's placation money. It's the political equivalent of buying your kid a pack of Skittles in the checkout line so they'll stop pitching a fit. Smart money doesn't think Andrews has a shot.
4. The SCDP turnout and GOTV operations are absolute ass (pun sort of intended). They are not investing in places where they could actually have an impact, and they're perpetually stuck on Hail Mary plays like Andrews instead of investing locally where small wins could impact the state more broadly.
5. Speaking of ground games....I'm a paid media guy through and through, but the ground game DOES matter in races like this. The SCGOP Victory program being lead by @SteveWMichael and the Team Graham effort being run by @MarkTKnoop are both really, really good and will be worth more than people think on election day.
6. The path to a Dem having a prayer in SC runs through CD1, and no serious person thinks Jenny Costa Honeycutt is going to lose to Nancy Lacore.
7. The write-in / third party effort from erstwhile conservatives is happening in a terminally online echo chamber. They're loud, not numerous.
Whatever polling is showing today, it's going to shake out about like this: Graham 53, Andrews 46, 1 percent odds and ends.
How bout you actually watch the 25 second clip when I criticized Democrats raising private emails between @SecWar and his mother, Jon. 😑

As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment"
- Donations dried up
- Volunteers were devastated and pleading for guidance on what to do
- Reporters hounded me with calls to drop out
Sure, a point was proven. Polling is broken. But tens of thousands of people poured their hearts, time, energy, hard-earned money into something they believed in - for a year-and-a-half, and it was treated like a game. Our volunteers gave their all. And then some. I felt like I had let so many of them down.
To be extremely clear, Michigan Democrats are locked in to beat Mike Rogers. We WILL send @AbdulElSayed to the US Senate.
But between crap like this, endless fundraising texts that drive supporters away with spammy fake deadlines and trash "match" claims, scam PACs run rampant for firms to grift without actually supporting candidates, undisclosed content creators pushing content out either misrepresenting themselves as residents of states they don't live in or hiding whether they were paid and by who so they could make a buck, and the tidal wave of dark money ads -- I hope Democrats are ready to blow up the system with campaign finance and transparency reforms.
Trust is already at an all-time low. We don't get out of this mess without rebuilding trust.
And media - who loves to ride the drama of a pollercoaster - needs to take a hard look at what's legitimate and what's not.
If this teaches us anything - DON'T GET COMPLACENT AND DON'T TRUST THE POLLS.
LOCK IN. SIGN UP FOR A CANVASSING SHIFT. LEAVE NOTHING TO CHANCE OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

By election day every voter in Ohio will know:
1) That @amyactonoh was raped by her stepfather, removed from their house, and the mother stayed with the rapist instead of protecting her children.
2) That Acton has not seen her mother in 50 years.
3) And be disgusted by this ad from what appears to be a crazy woman.
This ad by Vivek will backfire and seal his fate to the ash bin of politics.
