Husted is occupying current Vice President JD Vance’s former seat after he resigned in January 2025. He was previous the state's lieutenant governor under Mike DeWine.
Brown previously lost his old seat that he had held since 2007 to Bernie Moreno during the 2024 elections. Trump won Ohio in 2024 by over 11 points, and Moreno on the same ballot by 3.5 points.
