Our family has been keeping a secret!! @michaelsobolik and I honored and excited to announce that we’re pursuing another adoption from India. We chose to hold this news close for a little while, but the time has come to celebrate with our village — and we are SO glad to finally share it with you! We are just a couple of months away from being in the matching process (awaiting USCIS and India approval). When we adopted Dev, it was a year between matching and travel to India, but it’s been shortened to 6 months, so we’re anticipating (and hoping for) a shorter process this time around. In 2023, we welcomed our son Dev home from India through international adoption. We have been utterly amazed at how the Lord has worked in our lives over the past 6 years (we began our first adoption process in 2020). He has been faithful to us in every stage and season. He’s reminded us again and again of His great love for us — and our son. He’s given us wisdom and patience, when we were stretched beyond ourselves. He’s given us more joy than we thought possible We always tell Dev that adoption means he is loved and chosen. We remind our dear son of the story of how the Lord adopts us into his family, calls us his very own children, and invites us to call him “Father.” We will soon have the privilege of telling this story to our second dear child. They say “it takes a village” to raise a child, but for adoptive families, it often takes a village to bring them home, too. We can’t do the adoption process alone—we don’t have all the physical, mental, or emotional resources we need. Hundreds of people were involved, in some capacity, in bringing our son home, and we’re already looking forward with anticipation to how the Lord will write our family’s story for our second adoption. 🎉We are thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded a $4000 matching grant Fund administered by We Care for Orphans in Indiana and a $3000 matching grant Fund administered by @LifesongOrphans! If you’re interested in financially supporting our adoption, your gift will be doubled. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. We are eternally grateful for the people who chose to enter into our story! ♥️ Chelsea and Michael

The real response isn’t more politics—it’s action. Find a local pregnancy resource center and show up: • Drop off diapers, formula, clothes, and cash • Help run free parenting & childbirth classes • Answer the phones • Sit with the women who are scared These centers are free, confidential, and already on the front lines. They need people, not just opinions. Find one near you: optionline.org or call/text 1-800-712-4357 Love is practical. Serve.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Virginia will have abortions up to birth. The pro-abortion side spent over $5 million to buy another state.

Just getting around to reading Virginia's proposed abortion amendment. Just awful. Far worse than the state's explanation for voters suggests. elections.virginia.gov/media…

I've met Russ Sullivan a few times through the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). He's deeply committed to caring for children and youth, and I'm glad to see @axios profiling him! "Over the years, Sullivan has taken on legal guardianship of 22 young people in the D.C. area. Sullivan tells Axios he was motivated to embark on this parenting journey by his faith and by the little and big experiences every day that showed him he was making a difference." axios.com/2026/10/22/russ-su…

Again and again Russia does this.
This morning, a Russian guided bomb struck Good News Church in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, during Sunday morning hours. Pastor Viktor Pavenko has served this city for more than 35 years. His church runs an important bread ministry for the poor and for people who have no family left to care for them. Our teammate Karl Ahlgren slept in this building a few weeks ago while delivering aid. By God’s grace, no one was inside or injured in the attack on the church. Kramatorsk is under heavy bombardment. Ten days ago, a glide bomb hit buses in the city and killed at least 30 people. 🙏 Please pray for Pastor Viktor and his congregation as they work out how to keep feeding their neighbors. Pray for the people of Kramatorsk. And pray for those who launched this bomb, that their hearts would turn (Matthew 5:44). 🤲 Help us tell their story. Share this post. #Ukraine #Church #Kramatorsk #Breakingnews #PrayforUkraine

Really really glad to see this announcement from @realDonaldTrump
"He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed. That said, the execution may be viewed in person by the immediate families of the victims, if they so choose."

Seneca warned that Rome’s bloody spectacles corrupted the people who watched them. A civilization erodes when it cultivates an appetite for executions as a form of entertainment. Secretary Hegseth’s plan to livestream the Fort Hood execution risks feeding that appetite. The victims deserve justice administered with solemnity. Broadcasting a death diminishes us and is not an effective deterrent. I urge him to reconsider.

Three years ago, Called to Cultivate entered the world — at the very same time I was entering motherhood in the other side of the world. (I included some photos from releasing it in India — lots of media in the middle of the night) This book was born out of a challenging profession season. I was three months into my new marriage when I abruptly lost my job. I worked for a member of Congress who resigned in the middle of his term, resulting in the staff losing their jobs. Stunned and hurt, I began picking up the pieces of my professional life and patching them back together. After my job loss, I began to seriously study what Scripture says about women, work, and calling. Work predates the fall and is a good thing for humanity to engage in. On the very first page of Scripture, we see God at work as He creates the world. The pinnacle of creation is humanity, as God makes men and women in His own image and likeness. He commands both Adam and Eve to subdue and exercise dominion over the earth. Since the beginning of time, women have played a vital role in the flourishing of the church, their communities, and the kingdom of God through their work. Of course we know that in Geneis 3, the Fall marrs all of creation, including work. But the good news of the gospel means that the Lord is redeeming all things to Himself—including work. Now, our entire lives become a long obedience, faithfully co-laboring with Christ, as we offer the world a beautiful picture of who God is and what He is like. We work toward renewal and restoration. Our perspective is no longer solely shaped by what we can see, touch, and feel. No, we are people of the promise, who work to give the world foretastes of eternity with our words and deeds. May we be women who live a deep, purposeful and intentional life. May we be women who strive to faithfully steward our time, talent and attention well. May we have margin for the meaningful moments of life. May we devote ourselves to glorifying the Lord and loving His people. May we grow into Gody women. May we work hard in advancing God’s kingdom, the common good and the flourishing of others. amzn.to/4dsbPL1

When the US government carries out a just killing- and this is what it is- it should do it soberly and w/ a heaviness. I fear turning it into a spectacle will undermine support for just and careful capital punishment. I hope this decision will be reversed.
