ESPN is able to find the last time a QB threw for +325 yards, 3 TDs, no turnovers while rushing for +60 yards on less than 5 attempts while never holding a lead until the final drive of game with -5 wind chill. . But CMC is “believed to be” the first. C’mon now.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is believed to be the first player in NFL history to be a finalist for MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year all in the same season.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Christian McCaffrey is not the first player to be a finalist for NFL MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year in the same season; Adrian Peterson was a finalist for all three in 2012, and Joe Burrow was a finalist for all three in 2025. pro-football-reference.com/awards/awards_… nfl.com/news/peyton-ma… bengals.com/news/bengals-2…

So this week, will we be discussing whether Ben Johnson will be able to succeed without Jared Goff? Or does that premature narrative only work one way?

The #Steelers are making it clear: This is a new era of football in Pittsburgh — aggressive, bold, and willing to build however it takes to win. Jalen Ramsey, DK Metcalf, and Jonnu Smith were all acquired in splashy trades. Making the playoffs isn’t the goal — chasing a Super Bowl is. And they’re going for it.
