Matt saying Kingston is underwhelming when Bufkin preseason games were enough to get him stamped for life

The past 3 draft picks have been underwhelming. Remember which GM got Mo G

One of my favorite things on Sports twitter is when people quantify and qualify a concept youve been theorizing
Since this is getting attention, I'll plug who I believe are the actual "good" shooters through my data collection project: shaxnba.substack.com/p/i-wat…
I'd say there's 8 stretch bigs that see solid gravity (7 if you don't want to count Portis), maybe 4 that are ULTRA elite

resharing my initial 2027 NBA draft top 30 with the season officially underway, including tiers and superlatives for every player. always thrilled for a new cycle to begin
full board below currently filled out with my top 140, which is effectively a watchlist at this point:
It’s not rocket science. Damien Harris absolutely nailed this take.
But it’s more entertaining to pile on Penix for throwing 4 picks than to address the boring game management issues. One narrative generates clicks. The other doesn’t.

I remember this happened last year. When the schedule got busy, they would just go flat cause they are a slashing 3 pt shooting team and the legs give out. In addition, they have no true bigs. They just played 4 games against heavy players so I am sure their muscles are noodles

These guys are holding opponents to the lowest FG% at the rim vs expected rim FG%...
Protecting the rim at a high level early this season!

A decent amount of why Franz Wagner is starting off so poorly this year is that he is bottom ten in 3s, just 19% on greater volume, which translates to -1.8 ppg toward scoring margin.
Why is he worse? That's often hard to tell even with tracking data.

Kevin Garnett says he used to run three miles a day so he wouldn’t ever get tired during games, and says he would lean into opposing players during the 4th quarter just to hear how hard they’re breathing and make sure they knew he wasn’t tired at all
“Stretching is another thing. I don’t think our kids are in the best shape either, bro. I’m watching the league, a lot of dudes out of shape in the league, bro. I ain’t going to lie. I don’t see nobody running, racing.”
“The secret weapon of being in shape... I was literally just hell on the whole team. It’s different when you’ve got your hands on your knees in the fourth quarter and you see a dude in your face ready to go. Like, ‘I’m not even tired.’ That’s just a mental advantage.”
“They don’t run the miles. That used to be one of my main workouts, two or three miles a day. I never got tired on the court, ever. That was part of my play. I wanted to outwork you so much that I could hear you breathing. I’d say something: ‘Boy, you breathing. I can hear you. You sound like Biggie out here.’”
“I’m dead ass, boy. You can’t play me. You out here huffing and puffing, boy. What? It’s definitely an advantage to that.”

I spoke with an A.D. about this 15 years ago and he said that you’ve been in high school kids were getting injured more because they only played one sport, whereas when I was in high school we played 2 to 3 different sports every year!
