Alonso falling into the same trap as every Chelsea manager. Possession based approach, resulting in slow build up and only 3 shots. Sociedad have none of the ball but 10 shots because we're too open on transition.
Going to be a longer process than some expect #cfc
Spot on 👏🏻👏🏻
Hate to break it to you. Sport is always about individual brilliance.
Ramires v Barca away
Essien volley v Barca
Drogba header v Bayern
Lampard v chip/cross Barcelona
Oscar v Juve
I could literally go on and on during the last 20 years.
I am not discounting the importance of practice and it was clear that Rosenior set us up wrong in the first half but as much as your focus is always on tactics, you never seem to focus on the other side of football. The human errors, the fatigue, the luck, the refereeing etc.
This isn’t a computer game. This is away to Napoli. Chelsea fans getting stabbed outside in a stadium that they haven’t been beaten in since 2024.
Football is about finding a way to win. You have to factor in so many different elements. It is never as black and white as just tactics. Plus, if you are going to discuss tactics, you don’t seem to mention how he got it right in the second half. Switching back to a 4231 and finding a way to win. Through individual brilliance, through a set piece, through luck. None of it matters. Just enjoy a hard CL away win…..🤷🏽♂️
WHAT A WIN!
Brilliant 2nd half. Rosenior got it dead wrong 1st half but showed excellent in game management to help us win the game. JP outstanding, 2 fantastic goals from half chances!
Top 8 secured. Another win. Rosenior having an impact again

🚨💣🥶 Jose Mourinho in Italian press conference ahead of Juventus game:
“People who have done nothing are coaching the biggest teams.”
“For me, it’s just a surprise when coaches with no history, no body of work, get the chance to manage the world’s top clubs. It’s a real surprise.”
“When AC Milan hires Massimiliano Allegri, or Juventus hires Luciano Spalletti, or Roma hires Gian Piero Gasperini — it’s never a surprise to me.” 🤔⁉️
“The surprise is when people who’ve done nothing land the big jobs.” 😏

🗣️ Jose Mourinho: "It used to be believed that whoever won the most was the best, but that's no longer the case. Now, whoever creates the most perceptions is the best.
There are coaches who try things that don't work and fail, but they say, 'I died with my idea.' If you die with your idea, you're stupid."
"I went to the Premier League in 2004, as the champion of Europe, and that year only two foreign coaches made it to the Premier League: me and the UEFA Cup winner, Rafa Benítez, who won with Valencia and went to Liverpool; I won with Porto and went to Chelsea.
Today, coaches whose names I don't even know go to the Premier League, and I don't say that without respect; it's true. Some coaches are chosen by datas, numbers, not by victories.
Perceptions are created, and today the idea is sold that, more important than winning, is playing like this, looking like this... at that level, things have changed radically."
I love coaching. It's my true passion and I want to continue to learn, grow & develop. I want to progress but I just don't agree with the FA model of coaching.
I'd be doing the badges cos I need them not cos I agree. The English way just doesn't align with my own philosophy
That #AFCON2025 final was everything I love about football! Forget all the stats, tactics & bullshit. Just 2 teams going at each other, end to end, drama, controversy, rain, screamer to win it.
PL football take note. Football is for the fans
Im watching the AFCON final and honestly we fucked up massively letting Jackson go. His link up play, hold up play and dribbling ability is exactly what we miss now
Really poor 1st half. Rosenior spoke about fast starts at home & getting the crowd up early but we've played slow, looked laboured & give the ball away so easy. Brentford should have scored 2 minimum. Great to be winning but we've got to improve 2nd half #CFC
Thing I find funny is the fans protesting against the board to change the project didn't want Oshimen, Ronaldo, Vini Jr. Slag the board off for signing Koulibaly, Sterling etc. So you dont want young & unproven but you dont want proven & experienced either cos they have egos
RM putting Arbeloa in charge who's only managed RM B 🤔 United putting Carrick in charge who's never managed above Championship level but we're crazy for putting Rosenior in charge who's managed in a top league and Europe, interesting.

BRILLIANT PERFFORMANCE!
Showed different ways of playing. 1st half controlled & measured but still much quicker in the building up. 2nd half when they opened up we destroyed them by playing more vertical!
Thats a Chelsea team I'll enjoy watching. Finally.
People really think a club recorded training video is going to show what? His tactical set up? his 121 interactions with players? People who have never been around a football club like that. Some things are sacred & kept inside the training ground only
Whether you like the appointment or not the best thing for the team is back him until he gives us a reason not too. I didn't want Maresca but judged him by what I saw didn't boo him from game 1.
IF he fails fine, then you can show a lack of support. Until then, back him 💙
Best thing about Maresca getting sacked is all the "Chelsea supporters" who are now saying they're leaving supporting the club if Maresca isn't there! Good riddance. Support the club always above any coach, player, owner etc
This is the most embarrassing thing I've read today and thats saying something. Maresca not even in the top 10 chelsea managers
