Daniel Patrick Moynihan was sounding an extreme warning about their well being when black out-of-wedlock births approached 25%.
Now it's 77%!
And for all, it's 40%.
Abortion is downstream from the collapse of marriage.
We simply have to restore the moral order.

Your husband is the only person who ever loved you purely by choice.
Your family was already written into your story.
Parents loved you because you were theirs.
Siblings stayed because you shared blood.
Even your child is there because you’re the mother.
But your husband walked in as a complete stranger.
No obligation.
No duty.
No shared past.
He could have built a life with anyone else.
Yet he chose you.
Chose to grow old with you.
Chose to call you home.
That kind of love is never automatic.
It is a daily, deliberate decision to stay, especially when it’s hard.
So never forget to thank the man who still chooses you every single day.

Question came up: “Which plenary indulgences can be obtained every day of the year?”
Answer: there are four:
• Adoration
• Recitation of the Rosary
• Scripture reading
• the Stations of the Cross
Here are the *specific* conditions for each one:
Anyone can show up well when it’s easy. Pay attention to how they act when there’s pressure, inconvenience, or sacrifice.
I really tried to read the subtext here as sarcastic frustration with good men not taking initiative to approach modest women. But the sneering and the bar anecdote make me wonder.
Before accusing Catholics of being indoctrinated, maybe make sure your own argument is actually grounded in history.
