As part of our work with @BLMNational, our team developed an #EarthObservations monitoring system for all BLM land units in CONUS. 🛰️
To aid users, we just published a tutorial video on using the Site Characterization reports. 📄

Use VegDRI in Climate Engine to:
✅Map current conditions of vegetative drought
✅Assess multi-year trends
✅Pull timeseries data for areas of interest
✅Analyze VegDRI alongside dozens of climate and satellite datasets
🚨New dataset in Climate Engine🚨
The Vegetation Drought Response Index (VegDRI) is produced by @USGS & @DroughtCenter and depicts drought stress on vegetation within the conterminous US using #remotesensing and #climate data 🛰️

Check out this quick demo of the new reporting system we've developed in partnership with @BLMNational!
✅Generate land unit scale maps of climate and remote sensing indicators
✅Dive deeper by viewing real-time reports
✅Export data and reports for use in decision cases
Have you tried Cloud Score+ yet for removing clouds from Sentinel-2 imagery? ☁️
@googleearth finished backfilling the entire Sentinel-2 collection earlier this year and we've just implemented it in Climate Engine 🛰️

The Climate Engine App mapping panel has a new look! In addition to raster visualization layers, we are introducing a new layer type - Feature Summaries. Feature Summaries provide spatial summaries and trends for select feature types. To learn more, check out our support site.
Thanks @NOAADrought for all your support! 🙌

The new BLM Climate & Remote Sensing Data Reports portal is live at reports.climateengine.org and features two report types:
☀️ Drought - Updated every 5 days using multi-indicator drought blends
🌿 Site Characterization - Updated yearly using satellite-based vegetation indicators
Today we're thrilled to announce a new data website co-produced with @BLMNational to provide near real-time drought and satellite-based vegetation data consistently across BLM land units in the Lower 48.

Phew, the end of the tour!
We just provided five fantastic workshops for @blmnv across the state. 🙌
It was a great opportunity to engage with staff on using advanced #drought & #remotesensing datasets to support resource management and #conservation decisions! 🛰️

We've been busy lately—new datasets, variables, features, more!
Stay up on all the updates to the Climate Engine App and API on our brand new "What's New?" page, which begs the question, should we add our "What's New?" page to the "What's New?" page?! 😆

With hydroclimate datasets—like CONUS404—we calculate additional drought and water balance variables on top of the inputs, such as SPI, EDDI, SPEI, and potential water deficit.
Learn more about CONUS404 and all the variables available at our Support site: support.climateengine.org/ar…
🚨 New dataset in Climate Engine 🚨
CONUS404 is a daily 4-km hydroclimate reanalysis dataset produced using Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) simulations by @NCAR_Sciencewith @USGS_Water.
Check it out in the app now! 🧑💻
