Former Cork Chair Tracey Kennedy was lead voice against the transparency motion, Congress 2018. Lack of transparency & accountability in decision making in #GAA leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe if she brings a gender balance motion & sees then who votes for/against...Oh wait!

A reasoned & sensible call from @ClubPlayerAssoc as number of clubs who are only a few days away from completing their season is minimal... This hasty decision by @officialgaa seems to be about earning brownie points & to hell with the club players that are thrown into the abyss.

Fairly grim reading for @Doiregaa supporters in @IndoSport by @JoeBrolly1993 on the County finances. The scenario painted is a self fulfilling prophecy. Many/most other counties on same road to nowhere? CPA flagged crisis concerns but various pundits derided warnings #Cassandra

In an organisation where players play with club & county & love both, the @gaelicplayers proposal of split seasons makes absolute sense. Let’s just do it as developments in recent yrs. are undesirable & unsustainable. @officialgaa @offtheball @terracetalkrk @radiokerrysport – at Kerry, Ireland

Strong stuff here from @NedzerB13 on certain inter-county teams training and the #GAA’s response to it.
“It’s like putting seven or eight lads into the vault of a bank and telling them, ‘Right lads, there’s no sanction if the money goes missing’.”

Bang on by @mlverney It’s a disgrace after all that the country has been through that this unbelievably selfish attitude by many counties is prevailing. Time for @ClubPlayerAssoc and all club players to rail against this. Time for @officialgaa to reassess its values & live them
"You hear people saying 98% of players are club players, 100% of players are club players..."
Strong stuff from @mlverney on brewing tensions between club and county interests in the GAA.

Donegal-Tyrone straight knockout. Class. Think we could learn a lot from this championship. More games doesn't necessarily mean more value

Ah stop Why bother setting the date at all?? Bit of a joke really! @gaa @ClubPlayerAssoc
The GAA don’t plan to punish counties who resume training before 14 September

Really dissapointing.
Especially for any team or players who kept themselves fit, worked hard behind closed doors, stayed focussed on their goal for the year.
But like many things in GAA the inter county players get what they want, the club players don’t.

Column: From county managers to the GPA to a largely complicit media, the idea that the inter-county game's domination is a good thing has been allowed to grow up like a weed. It’s time county boards stood up for clubs and did the damn thing right #GAA

There were no perfect solutions we know but it could have been handled better than this. Becoming increasingly clear to me that our administrative system is broken- a county board’s dual roles as the promoter of a county team and a neutral arbiter of clubs are incompatible
