Welcome to the DT Retrospective!
I went through 127 DTs over the past 7 draft cycles to breakdown and understand the position at a deeper level. More than happy to explain any placement on any player.
With that being said, lets jump into this! 🧵
Man I forgot how combative fans are when they feel like the refs cheated them instead of just recognizing Football as a sport of opportunities that you have to capitalize on!
I guess my issue with the Lions game was that it felt like bad calls were going both ways consistently.
Makes sense the losing team would weaponize it (no hate, all fan bases do it), but the bigger issue is getting these refs way more consistent.
Starts to throw and ball leaves the hand before a defender makes meaningful contact, dirts the ball 8 yards from Kraft.
If he's out the pocket, ball still needs to go past the LOS. It's grounding lol
I wonder if knee strength and fluidity matters more than hips fluidity.
There are a lot of players with Great knees that allow them to disguise hip stiffness like Gabe Jacas (not in a bad way, just how he is).
Tbh Great knees might be more important than fluid hips.
Then you aren't efficient. If you have to sleep at the facility to get your work done, you aren't doing quality work.
Rest and leisure and necessary to keep you firing on all cylinders.
He's getting ragged on cuz sleeping there and not resting isn't making the most of it.
Think analytics guys might be off on this. Football ain't set odds. What might be 51% on the whole might have different odds in the moment.
Football is variable, it does take a level of reading the situation in order to appropriately call the game.
Kyle Shanahan says a 51% analytics recommendation won’t convince him to go for it because he gets one shot, not an hour at a blackjack table
“I don’t want to hear about it if it’s 51% of the time we should go for it.”
“As I always say, I’m not sitting here playing Blackjack for an hour with no one else at the table, and eventually I’ll get 51% of it. Like, I have this one try, and I have a feel for it. I’ve been doing it too long.”
“But what I want to know from him, when it’s not a feel, when it, no, this is 98%. We don’t even need to talk about it. So we don’t need to talk about it. Tell me when it’s that, and I’ll just do it.”
Andrew Marshall, CB, Nebraska
Good athlete. Great footspeed. Incredible processor. Understands what's coming before the WR even breaks. Such elite feel, hard not to root for him.
Off a Vibe scout he's a Top 75 grade (Low end CB2 on day 1 with high end CB2 upside)
Aw yes, these single thrusters were enough to get lift off of an electric vehicle that probably weighs 5 tons.
When I say people are missing critical thinking skills, it applies to stuff like this as well. It's so obviously fake lol
Think many people got the wrong Idea. This is what Marv looked like even in Arizona camp. He just has a skillset that wasn't being utilized.
OSU knew how to, half way thru the year adjusted his route tree and certain routes run to elevate his play.

Oh buddy we gotta have a talk about the route tree data.
That is not how you read that data.
On Makai Lemon:
Watching film, you can tell there's strong reasons why Makai Lemon isn't getting the ball and I wanted to visualize it with @FantasyPtsData:
1) Hurts throwing to MOF 16.8% of the time
2) Look at Lemon's route share 74.3% of his routes are towards the MOF
Half my issue is that we labeling players that haven't really done anything. Jordan Van Berg? Very Good? The 6th rounder with 20% snap share and meh tape?
You can disagree with the Boerkircher pick, but there's so many other issues with this post lol

Why the reminder? Because you DON’T have to reinvent the wheel. You DON’T have to try to look like ‘The Smartest One in the Room.’
Just be solid. Be practical.
So Lions fans, this is why I said we'd regret the Blake Miller pick.
Not because Miller is terrible, but Iheanachor was always better.
Some very good pass pro reps from Max Iheanachor in yesterdays dub
He’s looked overall pretty dang good since he got the starting job.
IMAX👿💪

Couldn't care, half this is just cuz I want to learn and it's very neat that every convo is bad faith.
Shoot, the only reason I got into it with you is cuz you saw "Sacks are a QB stat" and leaped to "So why even have an OL then?"
So many people rushing to stats rather than pointing out film. It's the difference between casually being invested and understanding at a deeper level.
These Water Bags feel like a fad to me. I want some type of academic study on this cuz it just screams gimmick.
No hate to this person in specific. Just don't like these bags.
