Well deserved @dylanscott_75!
EWU football released its two deep for the opener at NAU. Notable: - Drew Carlson is listed as the third starting WR with Cole Pruett injured - Soph. Dylan Scott gets the start at center - Malik Dotson will start at RB - JoJo Maxey-Johnson gets the nod at CB

Every training camp I had at Washington State University, Coach Leach would share the same story. The story of two kids. The rich kid and the poor kid. The rich kid has two choices. He can become spoiled, entitled, lazy, and expect everything to be handed to him because he has been given more. Or he can take every advantage of what he has been given—resources, coaching, opportunities—and use it to become even better. The poor kid has two choices too. He can say, “I never had a chance. Nobody gave me anything. The world is against me.” He can feel sorry for himself and use it as an excuse. Or he can say, “I may not have what they have, but I am going to outwork everybody.” He can become tougher, more driven, and more relentless than everybody else. It was a powerful message in a locker room full of people from different backgrounds, different families, and different life experiences. Some guys came from wealth. Some came from almost nothing. Some had every opportunity. Others had to fight for every inch. But despite all of those differences, everybody still had the same choice. You can take ownership and use what you have as fuel. Or you can become victim-minded. You can look for excuses, blame your circumstances, become entitled, and convince yourself that because of what you have—or because of what you do not have—you cannot become what you want to be. It is not about how you start. It is about what you choose to do with how you start. The rich kid can waste what he has been given or use it to build something greater. The poor kid can use his circumstances as an excuse or as fuel. In the end, greatness does not come from starting with more or less. It comes from which person inside of you that you choose to feed. You heard it here first, Duo is just Iso
even before Mike Pope and I came up with Duo in the early 1990s The play in its PURE form was a version of ISO where vs a 4-3 Defense with 3 bubbles that some would call a 49 or an Even Swim the FB would ISO the Sam off the Ball. That was before we even came up our version of DUO

It’s been a pleasure to coach for @EaglesAHSFB for the last 3 seasons. I will always value the relationships built, the successes had, and all the things I’ve learned being part of such a great program.

While I’ve decided to move on to another chapter I will remain a huge Eagles fan, and continue to support everyone involved in the AHS athletics family.

Sam Darnold has won 78% of his games with a 99.4 quarterback rating an 7.1 adjusted net yards per attempt since 2022 in the regular season. Patrick Mahomes has won 73% of games with a 95.7 rating and 6.7 ANY/A since 2022 People hate hitting refresh on their takes don’t they?
Is Sam Darnold the worst QB to win a Super Bowl?

"From a defensive side...the creativity is at an all-time high, but to me the fundamentals of attitude, effort, blocking, and tackling will be true in football for the rest of time." Really rings true to me after watching the Seahawks win the Super Bowl last night.
Spoke with Christian McCaffrey about how offenses and defenses have evolved over the last decade ,but why we should never forget that the fundamentals of football will outlast all of it.

The Mike Macdonald era is here. Six teams will be running his system next season. I went on a deep dive into his system and talked to coaches around the league about what it is and why it’s so difficult to game plan for. theathletic.com/5469059/2024…
