WebMCP vs. MCP Definition → WebMCP: Lets websites expose actions directly to an AI agent, allowing it to use your website interface accurately. It is the same as MCP but intended for a website or web app. → MCP: Lets external systems expose tools, data, and actions to an AI agent through a standardized interface. Where it applies → WebMCP: User-facing interface of any website or application (e.g., storefront) → MCP: Backend systems, servers, databases, APIs, and external applications or services. Problem It Solves → WebMCP: AI agents struggle to navigate through websites or web apps; actions include taking screenshots or simulating clicks on buttons. WebMCP solves that problem by giving the AI agents tools / schemas for easier navigation and interaction with the website. → MCP: AI agents need a consistent way to connect to different tools and data sources. MCP standardizes that connection so one server works with any MCP-compatible client. How it works → WebMCP: The user communicates with an AI agent, and then the AI agent uses WebMCP-exposed tools to perform actions or get data from the website. → MCP: The user communicates with an AI agent, then the AI agent connects to an MCP server and uses the tools or data that the server exposes. Simple distinction → WebMCP: website/frontend capabilities exposed to the agent → MCP: external/backend capabilities exposed to the agent. Example Use Case → WebMCP: Shopify Store WebMCP + ChatGPT Browser. This allows ChatGPT to easily search for a product or add an item to the cart for the customer. The customer and ChatGPT interact together in the same browser. → MCP: Google Drive MCP + Claude. This allows Claude to know the contents of your Google Drive and make changes. WebMCP in Shopify → Shopify already implemented WebMCP on all Liquid storefronts and on storefronts built with the Hydrogen developer preview. → You don't need to install or configure anything. It already works out of the box on WebMCP-supported browsers. → Tools include searching the store’s catalog, managing the shopper's cart, and navigating the store on the shopper's behalf.

How are you getting clients or customers to use your apps? Here are a few suggestions you could try: → Pitch to your own clients. Easiest because they already trust you. → Consider adding referrals. Merchants trust other merchants when recommending an app. → Optimize your App Store listing. It can help with getting searches and conversions. → Book calls on appstoreresearch.com/. Costs, but gets you access directly with merchants via research or sales calls. → Join communities with merchants. Easy lead list: you get to know them better, understand their needs, and allow yourself to build a better app. Build your reputation by being helpful. → Marketing Ads. Scales to many but can cost a lot and is difficult to execute on a brand new app. → Cold outreach. Hardest to do, requires a vetted lead list and convincing to a stranger. Plus, merchants usually ignore these emails.

Last week I burned $350 worth of tokens in one hour. (16 agents on Fable 5, all in parallel) I broke down the fixes that make your tokens go 10x further as a dev. 👇 youtu.be/jcMWO3sBMqQ

My little tool just got featured in a @Coding_with_Jan video 🤯 bricks.stormdevs.com When I started learning Shopify development, I was watching Jan’s videos. Now something I built is featured in one of them. Honestly, this feels like a life goal achieved. I joined his AI Developer Bootcamp community in April, and it’s genuinely the best community I could have imagined. It feels like I’m learning faster, building more, and achieving 10x as much in the same amount of time.

Hermes Agent is getting a ton of hype right now. So i broke down what it actually is, the problem it solves, and whether it's worth it as a dev. (plus a pricing trap you should know about) 👇 youtu.be/xmRFq9KsVCM

API, MCP, CLI. Everyone acts like you have to pick one. You don't. API: two apps talking. Write once, re-run for free. MCP: an agent talks to that API in plain language. Burns tokens. CLI: one command, a whole stack of steps. Full breakdown (5 min): youtu.be/M_TzU6YRQb0

My two boys love LEGO and are always browsing for the next sets on their wishlist. As a good dad and Shopify developer, that felt like the perfect excuse to explore the Shopify UCP Catalog API. So I built Brickfinder: bricks.stormdevs.com

Yesterday i prototyped 3 apps that would've been almost impossible a year ago. A gift finder, a price comparison tool, and a shop-the-look feature. All 3 search every Shopify store at once to find the best products. Global catalog API 👇 youtu.be/EN6kvB-mri4
