Spiked Magazine (where James writes) recently changed its name from "Living Marxism" and before becoming far right swore allegiance to the Revolutionary Communist party. A ridiculous group of clowns who lost a libel suit to ITN over their denial of the Bosnian genocide.

several independent bookshops in the North of Ireland including No Alibis in Belfast and Bridge Books (@BridgeBooksDro1) are continuing to source and sell Sally Rooney’s books because they stand on the right side of history and not with the regressive, authoritarian laws and legislation of the British state they are able to do this because the North has dual access to both UK and EU markets (thanks Brexit) and can order books through Irish distributors (Argosy etc) meaning that they are technically operating outside UK jurisdiction (any revenue made off Sally’s books in this case would be Irish revenue / sales) so hypothetically, if there was an owner of an independent bookshop in Britain who wants to put two fingers up to the British government and this ridiculous law, you could do what the bookshops here are doing and source Sally’s books through those same Irish distributors… just a thought… and sure if you’d like to tag your local bookshop below / share this post, and if they want or need advice or more clarity about this… I know a guy, that’s all I’m saying
We’ll continue stocking and supplying Sally Rooney’s books. We recognise support for Palestine Action, proscribed under UK terrorism law, is a divisive and contentious issue. We oppose antisemitism and all forms of violence and oppression. Peace ✌️

I did sense final season vibes, but still a shock to hear the announcement on the work commute this morning. Very sad to see it go.

In March Sally Rooney reminded us all of the role played by Mary Manning & her colleagues in the fight against apartheid South Africa, and how its up to us now to fight in support of Palestinians in their struggle for liberation.

Lady Haw Haw repeating a baseless allegation from Israeli journalists, while ignoring the actual evidence of racist abuse directed at Adam Idah from Israeli football fans. – at Orsett, East
This is what happens when Irish activist journalists don’t do their jobs properly. The allegations against an Irish player of racism towards an Israeli player has been widely reported on in Israeli media. This Israeli journalist didn’t just come up with it on the spot. Because the Irish press failed to report on the situation (despite providing an abundance of coverage on the allegations of racism against Israeli fans), this allegation comes as a surprise to Irish commentators and is regarded as ‘bizarre’ and ‘unfounded’.

The message from outside the Dáil today is crystal clear. The FAI must not give up its second chance to not cross the Palestinian picket line, it must not play Sunday's 'home' game against apartheid Israel. Join us at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow at 6.3pm. #StopTheGame
