“Was it Kierkegaard or Dick Van Patten that said ‘if you label me you negate me?’” Likes do not equal an endorsement, but they do equal something.

People are all like "I was babysitting at 11!" and ignoring the fact that she got on a plane and was gone for six days. "But my parents left me alone at 14 for days on end!" Yeah, and you had bad parents. A 14 year old is not a legal guardian capable of managing a household.
Bodycam footage shows Florida deputies arresting a mother at an airport after authorities say she left her four children, ages 9, 11, 12 and 14, home alone while traveling to Las Vegas for work. Irene Miller, 50, was taken into custody Friday as she stepped off a plane. Two days earlier, one of her children had called 911 after a dumbbell fell on her 9-year-old brother's head. When deputies arrived at the family's Kissimmee home, they found the children without adult supervision and had the injured boy taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Miller now faces four counts of child neglect.

A self described "fellow in human rights" applauding the nakedly corrupt political prosecution by a shady left wing govt would be deeply ironic if it weren't for the fact that the entire concept of "human rights" is basically a corrupt Communist movement.
Lula surrendered to justice, faced his accusers, went to jail on tampered evidence, proved his innocence and then won 2 elections in a row. Flavio fled a day after he won 60 million votes and a congressional majority.

For anyone confused about what happened in Brazil… Imagine if the Kamala Harris campaign, after losing the first round of voting by over two MILLION votes and watching her trail all month, spent Election Day not counting voters but counting buses, and when the courts refused to arrest a city official over a bus spreadsheet, they didn't take no for an answer, they went around the election court entirely, straight to a Supreme Court justice who just happened to be the Democratic president's former personal lawyer, the same president who put him on the bench, and that justice just happened to rule three minutes before polls closed, so late that many machines were already shut and sealed, and then, instead of fixing it, he quietly rewrote his own order so that only the stations still open could keep voting, and nobody, not the press, not the election officials, not anyone, can tell you how many stayed open, or where they were, or why that list hasn't been released, or whether it just happened to line up with the exact neighborhoods the Democrats had spent all day naming, while Republican voters in flooded, blacked-out towns who had begged for extra time were told the doors were locked and to go home, and then the vote count itself was frozen for two full hours in the dark, and when the lights came back on the Democrat had pulled off the first runoff comeback in the nation's history, and the same people who spent four years saying trust the institutions announced the institutions had worked perfectly, that asking which polls stayed open was an attack on democracy, that the list of open polls was classified for the good of democracy which is roughly where Brazil is tonight.

In the same breath, NPR is out here claiming that it is a given that Trump is going to try to alter the outcome of the election and at the same time people need to tune out noise from sources with myopic points of view.

This looks like garbage and you know they spent 6 to 7 figures to some design firm to come up with it. Beige and gold? The little bulges that extend from one color bar into another? Heck, even the protruding leg doesn't make sense. It needs to be tilted down for that to work.

This is doubly interesting in light of the recent tiger debate where plenty of people made the argument that humanity is more important than a rare tiger and killing it to save a human, even a genocidal one, is the appropriate answer. Anyone who would refuse to shoot a tiger...
Tens of thousands of rioters are approaching the Louvre. They have vowed to burn it down along with EVERYTHING in it. You are an advisor to the French govt. Security informs you that the ONLY way to stop the rioters is to gun them all down. There would be a minimum of 1000 deaths. Do you advise security to shoot?

That should read suicidal human, not genocidal.

I posited to a left-leaning former friend, seemingly normal middle class mid-west guy, whether it was justifiable to destroy art in museums because it could be seen as racist. His answer was yes, absolutely, if it meant that the world that follows is free of racism.

That type of person would see no problem w the fruits of western civ destroyed when they've deemed western civ an anathema to the proper leftward march of humanity and the equal distribution of resources. The protestors don't want better schools, they want to rebuild the world.

Under no circumstances should it take you more than 30 seconds to order in a drive-through.

Not sure which is more pathetic. The women who dress likes whores at the gym offended by Shane’s observation or the dude’s threatening random comedians with violence over a casual, and observable, stand up routine. Save some puss for the rest of the simps, mutant.

Honestly if he talked like that in front of one of my female friends I’d lay the guy out

The endgame of this ideal is why we have nannystism and can be used to justify any and all big government measures. “It’s for the common good” is the hallmark of every dictator and tyrant and has led to millions of deaths.
As sad as it is, the morally correct thing to do is to shoot the tiger to save a human life, even if the person being saved put themselves in that position and the tiger is just being a tiger. However, it would make no sense to kill the tiger once the person is already dead.

Is it just me or has Apple‘s voice to text program? Just gone to complete dog shit? I can’t tell obviously syllables, Mrs. clear punctuation problems, and generally gets multiple things wrong. What’s the point if you have to then proofread and retype lest you look like an idiot?

I’ve reposted this already, but I want to emphasize a point: she should have thrown up on him. She should’ve worked up her gag reflex and spewed all over the shirtless guy. Let the flight attendant who refused to acknowledge it clean up the mess. Let him wallow in filth.
We need to have a serious conversation about overweight people flying on commercial airlines. I’m flying on @AmericanAir and after paying extra money to upgrade my seat, I got stuck next to a man who is 300+ pounds and stripped mid flight. None of the flight attendants wanted to confront him. He smells like 💩 and weed. He’s literally sitting in my seat and keeps touching me. For context, he’s literally 300+ pounds and I’m 120. Why does American Airlines think it’s acceptable to treat people this way?! I tried reaching out discreetly during the flight, but they have no avenues to do that.

Let him walk, shirtless, covered in vomit to the lavatory. Let every customer see him and stare and all complain on social media. And let the staff complain. If every flight attendant went on strike over something like this, it would end pretty quick.

A pilot or crew member can kick you off a flight to make space for crew flying off hours, for not being attentive to their demands, for saying the wrong thing or for appearing drunk or wearing inappropriate clothing but they refused to do anything in this scenario. Total cowards.
