On Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley challenged Andy Burnham after the government told people to stockpile food and water, Susana: “You’ve just spooked everybody by saying stockpile… We have the current Defence Secretary saying we need to prepare for war.” Richard then asked whether Burnham was disappointed that some of his own colleagues treated the stockpiling advice light-heartedly, referring to comments from figures such as Angela Rayner who joked about packing mascara and wine in a survival kit, essentially, “either you’re serious about it or you’re not.” Burnham laughing away to himself, replied that he wasn’t bothered, because “a bit of humour makes the point.” No. Telling the public to prepare for war or major disruption is fearmongering, and brushing off the anxiety it creates with a joke isn’t funny. He treats everything as a bit of a laugh because he seems more concerned with coming across as the ordinary, down-to-earth bloke than acting like a Prime Minister facing serious security questions. You’re in the job now, time to take it seriously

After scaremongering about Scotland, now this week we find out the UK has NOT paid £3 trillion worth of bills. 😃🙄
Nigel Farage asks how independent Scotland will pay the bills then closes the interview when @AngusMacNeilSNP points out the UK hasn’t paid its bills since 1945.

Mask Off Moment This is an anonymous account I use to post a bunch of deep tech content on X covering heavy industry, light industry, technology trends, industrial bottlenecks, weird explainers and esoteric insights. iykyk. A lot of very talented people (many of whom run amazing companies) DM me saying please keep posting “this is the best content on X”. I get DMs from VCs asking about companies, and DMs from LPs asking about industrial and economic theories. This is all very flattering, and whilst I sometimes post a bit sporadically I do try and make the effort to tap out a new post most days. The quality of people who follow @object_zero_ is frankly phenomenal, it’s a real privilege to have this channel in my pocket. 40k followers including world leaders, centi-billionaires, serial inventors and entrepreneurs, world renowned scientists, and engineers. I would say it’s a mix, but the reality is that it’s not a mix at all, it’s an extremely high mean and median. I have posted about shipbuilding, nuclear power, the Kroll process, silicon carbide, laser interferometry, heavy steel forging, machine learning, design engineering, CFD, manufacturing methods, power transmission and HVDC. I post about energy and commodities and industry and global macroeconomics. I post about mines and prospecting, minerals on the sea bed and drilling and producing hydrocarbon basins. Don’t worry… I’m not leaving. I’m not ill and I’m not asking for anything. A quick apology… I would post here more often, except I don’t have the time. I am able to post with a bit more breadth and depth because I am genuinely engaged in these things. I don’t want to be presumptive, but I think the people who have reached out to talk to me about their work would attest to this. I simplify a lot of the posts so I don’t collapse the audience, but if you reach out in the comments or DM you can get much sharper commentary. So what is this post? Well, it’s time that I start talking about what I am actually doing irl, who I am, what I am engaged in. Some people on X already know some loose details, some people have met me as Object Zero. But irl, I work about 5,000 hours a year and have done so for 20 years, I believe hard work puts you in a privileged place. It changes you. Over the years I’ve invented and developed new industrial technologies, I’ve built big things, I’ve executed major capital projects. I feel I understand what the world needs in the 2030s and where we are falling short. If you believe you are capable of such things, then you have an obligation to society to go and do them. I am confident I know what it’s possible to do, and what it takes to get it done. I intend to solve our energy infrastructure, generation and transmission and the big BTM loads that are emerging. I’ve already hired the best people in the world for this, people who have architected $6bn assets, people who have commanded $40bn fleets. I’ve hired the best research faculty from the best university. This isn’t a game. We’ve already built and tested the first prototypes, we are already completing the permission processes, the licences and the permits. All the elements already exist, it just needs 21st Century system integration. Because technology has changed, the past is already obsolete, the genie is out of the bottle, the 21st century is getting built on a Western tech stack and/or an Eastern tech stack. There is no in between, there is no middle ground. Both sides have strengths and weaknesses, but if we want freedom we’re going to have to earn it again. We are going to build the biggest products (by mass) that have ever been manufactured, we are going to build a lot of them. They’re going to change the world, and we’re going to get more of this…

The thing is, Mike, we aren't that fussed when we are in the queue at Tesco. We are a bit more worried if the person with a penis is in the locked female psychiatric ward, prison, changing room. I KNOW! Context is really hard to understand.
Bumped into a trans woman today at the grocery store. She smiled and said hi. I smiled and said hi back. Nothing happened. I didn’t become trans myself, It’s like there were Just two people living their lives normally If that bothers you then, you’re an asshole.

Obviously I'm not saying anyone would ever do this. But if you were a bitter nasty person who took pleasure from abusing people on the internet, pretending you were doing this in support of a progressive cause would be a great way to justify your behaviour to yourself and others.

I’ve shared this inquiry clip a lot recently - and the reason why is that it sums up EXACTLY what happened during the ‘pandemic’ They killed people - first by protocol - and blamed the COVID ‘virus’ …. Then later the vaccine - and again blamed the ‘virus’ for those deaths 3/

Around 1500, Hieronymus Bosch painted sheet music on a sinner's bare butt in hell. 500 years later, someone transcribed and performed it. Now you can hear the original butt song from hell.

Does Scotland have enough windfarms? We are already a net exporter, but still Scots pay the most expensive energy costs in the UK. Now a Spanish firm are threatening to erect 144 wind turbines, each over 1115 feet high (taller than the Eiffel Tower), off the coast of Iona, one of Scotland's most important cultural, historical and religious sites. This short film explains why we need to say No to the Machair Windfarm. youtu.be/hXGpsffa3Zk?is=ZIQI…

The NHS has published its seasonal recipe for hospital kitchens this October. Kale raw slaw. Cabbage. Kale. Carrots. Red onion. A splash of vinegar. And rapeseed oil to bring it all together. Their own chef's tip proudly calls it "a great vegan salad". Lovely. So you're lying in a hospital bed. Maybe recovering from surgery. Maybe trying to heal a wound, rebuild muscle, get your strength back. And what turns up? Raw cabbage in seed oil. Not a bit of beef. Not an egg. Not a knob of butter. Nothing your body could actually rebuild itself with. Protein is what heals tissue. Older people lose muscle fast when they're stuck in bed. Everyone knows a poorly person needs feeding up. Our grandparents knew it. Beef tea. Bone broth. A proper bit of stew. But no. Rapeseed oil and kale. Then they wonder why people come out weaker than they went in. The NHS will spend billions on weight-loss jabs, and then serve the sick a factory oil dressing and call it nutrition. You couldn't make it up. If you were stuck in a hospital bed, what would you actually want brought to you?

Clotted cream is the richest dairy product in the British kitchen, nearly two thirds fat, and it was invented as a way of keeping milk in a county with no ice. The method is older than anyone can trace. Fresh milk from the morning is left in a wide pan until the cream rises, then the whole pan is set over a very low fire or in a cooling bread oven for hours, never boiling, until a thick crust forms on top the colour of old gold. It cools overnight and the crust is lifted off with a skimmer. That crust is the cream, and the scalding is what kept it. Heated that way it lasted for days when fresh cream would have turned by teatime. Devon and Cornwall argued over it for centuries and still do. The Cornish got the legal protection in 1998, on condition that the milk is Cornish and the fat is at least fifty-five per cent, though the good stuff runs higher. The argument about whether the cream or the jam goes on the scone first has split the two counties for as long as there have been scones, and it is the only question in British food that people will genuinely fight over. If you grew up in the West Country it came in a cardboard tub with a crust you broke through with a knife, and it went on everything: the scone, the apple pie, the porridge, a spoon of it straight off the blade when nobody was looking. A pot sent by post to a relative in London was the standard Christmas present from Cornwall for a hundred years. It is milk with the water taken out and the fat left in, and it was the ordinary household food of the two poorest counties in England. The cream tea is now a treat you drive to and photograph. In 1930 it was what a dairy farmer's wife did with Tuesday's milk, and the fat was the whole point of doing it.
