Happy JevDay!
But before announcements we have to talk philosophy…
The needs of early adopters / tinkerers / dreamers are quite different from what is needed for extremely stable infrastructure.
For the Jev release, we erred on the latter, but this release is for the former - with a gate so people can opt-in to the danger zone!
huge for real world automation! 💖

We put Jev inside the Lightpanda binary and built judge() on top of it. @typesafeai
No more sending a whole page to an LLM just to find out it's a cookie banner.
> Blocked pages, CAPTCHAs, cookie walls, logins, paywalls, error pages, empty searches and pages still loading can all return an HTTP 200
> judge() asks a set of predefined questions and tells you if the page has real content, and what kind: article, listing, product or docs
> One call, ~0.2s
In the video:
> 30 sites, ~14s total
> Lightpanda backs off when rate-limited, accepts cookie walls, and keeps or skips each page

Congrats to TypesafeAI on the Series A!
At the first ever Jevathon, we watched developers build some seriously impressive apps on their new System One model.
Can't wait to see what's next!
we told @a16z we wanted to put intelligent software everywhere
they asked how much compute that would take
we said Uh Yes.
announcing our really big Series A

I just built Computer Use that’s cheaper, faster, and acts like a human 🖥️
Powered by @typesafeai’s JEV 1.14, using the new Image/Box feature.
It looks at the screen, decides what to do, then clicks and types like a real person.
⚡ Way cheaper than using an LLM
🧑 Acts like a human: sees the screen, picks an action, clicks or types it
📋 Full report of every step: the screenshot, the action it picked and why
Demo: I told it to open Wikipedia, search for an article about aliens, copy the link, and post a tweet with the link and some text.
- Cost: $0.0019
- Tokens: ~50,000
OPEN SOURCING SOON on my github 👀 (as always)

We plugged Google Research’s Harness² into JEV 1.14.
Zero weights touched, yet driving massive gains on vision benchmarks round after round.
Under the hood, the system:
⚡️ Rewrites its own prompts
🛠️ Builds its own tools
🧠 Distills its own experience
JEV-Harness² repo drops soon. Stay tuned.
Google just open-sourced Harness².
(turn any harness into a self-improving system)
a harness is everything wrapped around the model, like the system prompt, tools, memory, skills, and subagents. today a person designs it once, and the agent runs every new task with that same fixed setup.
Harness² lets the agent refine that setup for each new task on its own, with the model weights left untouched.
on every task, the agent proposes edits to its harness, runs a few candidate versions, and composes a better harness by comparing how those runs behaved.
because it learns from the differences between runs, it needs no correct answer or grader for the task.
that covers a single task. Harness² also carries what it learns from one task into the next.
after each task, it saves the harness it settled on along with the lessons that held up across the runs. the next time it refines a harness, it starts from those notes instead of from scratch.
this means every finished task makes the next round of edits more informed.
Google tested this with Gemini 3.5 Flash and GLM-5 on legal, office, and professional work benchmarks. one round of edits was enough to beat their original harnesses, and giving the agent more rounds pushed scores higher.
those extra rounds can go wide or deep. the agent either tries several candidate harnesses at once or keeps refining a single one step by step, using OpenCode or Codex to carry out the work.
you can find the Harness² repo here: github.com/google-research/h…
I wrote about a similar idea for agents already running in production, where the harness should repair itself after a failure instead of waiting for someone to debug the trace by hand.
that piece walks through how @Cometml's Opik (open-source) closes this loop, going from a failing trace to a proposed fix to a regression test that stops the same failure from coming back. it's quoted below.
really well said! re: how to truly make models smarter and why we're hiring frontend / full stack engs

she's a 10 but she's a 9. she's an 8. she has a red wire and a blue wire. you don't know which to cut. she's a 7

Jev image support is now in MotherDuck SQL! Classify, score, or get bounding boxes on images at analytics scale.
Our actually-rigorous benchmark on this is below. Comparable quality to Sonnet at 10x the speed and 1/25th the cost. And since it’s Jev, you get a real confidence metric. What a dream.

Replying to @vercel
2. Jev became AI Gateway’s fastest-adopted model ever, and September’s most-requested model.
I thought @hmartenjoyer was shitposting but this is real 🤯

Hello Software Engineers, I lead TypeSafe AI Model Capabilities team. We are hiring. Here are a few qualities we are looking for:
• strong plus for people who resonate with the title "Experience Engineers": mobile engineers, full stack engineers, or even (virtual) reality engineers.
• strong coder (you need to be able to manually write code)
• product oriented thinker
I promise are fun! I trust that you will figure out how to apply.

Jev @typesafeai can literaly save lives!! made it detect drowning from video footage. It watches over your kids at the pool for less than $2.5/hr
SO FKIN COOL
Today, we are launching OpenRouter Armor in beta.
Tool calls allow agents to interact with the world, and regex-based filtering often isn't enough to detect unwanted tool calls.
Armor uses @typesafeai's Jev model to guard against out of policy tool calls before your agent executes them, with better performance than Claude Code's auto classifier at a fraction of the cost.
