What’s happening in Karachi’s schools—children being taught to lynch people—is a direct result of the #mullahmilitaryalliance's influence! The joy in these kids’ faces as they learn such brutality highlights the deep corruption of the system. 1/2 @Taimur_Laal @Razarumi

Five years since Sohail and Fasih vanished from Balochistan University. Pakistan's authorities apparently need more than five years to answer one simple question: Where are the students? What an impressive display of state accountability! 1/2 teapaw.org/VBMP5/status/211652851…

If there are charges, file them. Or does #Pakistan's justice system now operate on the principle: disappear first, answer never? #EndEnforcedDisappearances 2

Pakistan’s democracy seems to come with a uniformed supervisor. Civilian governments may hold office, but military interference in politics, judicial affairs and dissent keeps raising the question: who really calls the shots? #Pakistan 1/

Pakistan finds billions for defence, yet basic rights, minority protection and public welfare remain pressing challenges. Generals may command the institutions, but who answers for the ordinary citizens left paying the price? 2/

A country cannot build global credibility by silencing journalists, intimidating activists and sidelining political opposition. Uniforms can command obedience, but they cannot manufacture democratic legitimacy.

Solitary confinement is the ultimate admission of weakness by an authoritarian setup. By keeping Imran Khan isolated and silencing political opposition, the Pakistani establishment only proves that its authority relies on coercion, not consent.

Ever seen Pakistan’s politicians or elite queue for free food, subsidised fuel or relief packages? Neither have we. Those queues are apparently reserved for ordinary citizens—waiting for “favours” that should have been basic rights. 1/ tribune.com.pk/story/2637962…

Charity keeps people alive, but it can also keep failed institutions comfortable. Why fix governance when handing out food creates better headlines? The citizen gets a ration bag; the system gets another excuse to avoid accountability. 3/

The real measure of progress is not how many charity queues Pakistan can create, but how few people need them. Rights are not handouts, dignity is not a relief package, and justice cannot be replaced by charity—no matter how generous the photo-op. 4/

The unchecked, blind use of power in Balochistan is a textbook example of what happens when a state completely surrenders its democratic institutions to military hegemony.
Balochistan #BeVoiceOfTheOppressed

When security forces and intelligence agencies operate entirely above the law—executing enforced disappearances, crushing peaceful dissent, and operating with absolute impunity—the state’s own core machinery dissolves.

The judiciary becomes a rubber stamp, law enforcement becomes a tool of intimidation, and basic constitutional safeguards cease to exist for an entire population.

How many times must Baloch protesters face violence before Pakistan’s military learns that peaceful dissent is not a crime? Baloch mothers, women, and young people deserve protection, not bullets.

A state that responds to demands for justice with force only deepens the wounds of its own people. The world must not ignore Balochistan’s cries for dignity, freedom and accountability.

Amnesty International has launched an urgent petition to free human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, who are trapped in a vicious revolving-door detention by the Pakistani state

After being handed outrageous sentences for social media posts criticizing the military, the Supreme Court finally granted them bail.

But the regime immediately rearrested them before they could walk free, all while denying Imaan proper medical care and letting Hadi develop diabetes behind bars.

After 13 long years of waiting for her forcibly disappeared husband, Ali, another Baloch woman has passed away without ever receiving closure or justice. Enforced disappearances in Balochistan are a slow, systematic campaign of state-sponsored torture against entire families.
