Fun game until Luka went to the bench. Both losses happened this year when he had to go out.
37 points and +9 in a 17 point loss.
Fun first half.
-Luka is a monster as expected
-Lakers bench played horrible and gave Warriors life.
-When Steph gets hot there’s not much you can do.
-Refs said it’s time for us to make this a game.
-Is Yaxel playing tonight?
😂😂😂 and dominating the game on the defensive end with 2 steals a block. This is why I love Luka. He is one of the best killers ever.
Kerr gave Yaxel a few minutes and it went badly. Back to doubling Luka and helping out Yaxel was the right call by Kerr.
Every day, there’s a new Luka stat or advanced metric proving just how dumb some people are. People like Max Kellerman, Stephen A., and Michael Wilbon hate Luka so much that they’re willing to make complete idiots of themselves just to justify their hate.
For what it's worth, the Lakers have had the third-best transition defense in the league so far this season.
On top of that, it's been the best transition defense Luka has ever been a part of (on-court possessions), both in terms of PPP allowed and the fewest % of possessions where the other team has a man advantage.
Whether this is more effort from Luka getting back, better insulation from the rest of the roster, or just randomness remains to be seen. That said, it hasn't been an issue for the Lakers so far.
Zion Williamson shooting only 13 shots a game for an 0-4 Pelicans is crazy. He leads the team in points by a lot and shoots as much as their guys on the bench.
I know a few former Cardinals players who told me that most NFL players would get their paychecks on Monday, the day after a game. But the Cardinals wouldn’t pay their players until Wednesday, supposedly just so Bidwill could collect two extra days of interest. From what I was told, this started with Mike’s dad, Bill, and Mike continued the practice. I don’t know if they still do it or when it stopped.
I will say I’ve spent time with Mike Bidwill, and he was always a very pleasant guy. I just think he held on to too many of the cheap practices his dad put in place. Ask any longtime Cardinals fan or former player, and they’ll tell you Bill was far worse.
I actually think Mike tried. He just could never seem to get it right. Maybe that’s why I never disliked him as much as some fans do. At least I saw him putting in an effort to win. With his dad, it always felt like he couldn’t have cared less whether the Cardinals won or lost.
Luka being 2nd in transition points per game is hilarious. He’s taking down all the narratives this year.
I’m seen enough. He’s the next Jokic. Give Lovering a max deal!
