The elevation of Miller to chief underscores what Pres. Trump told me earlier this week: he believes the Court has expanded his "tremendous" executive powers and he's prepared to use them.... notable that in our conversation, he brought up Trump v. Slaughter as a way of explaining his point...

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) in his December 2014 Senate farewell address: "When I came to West Virginia 50 years ago, I was searching for a clear purpose for my life’s work. I wanted the work to be really hard, and what I got was an opportunity to work really hard along with a real and utterly spiritual sense of mission. This work demands and deserves nothing less than everything that we have to give. I will miss the Senate. Some days I don’t want to leave, but it's time." RIP c-span.org/program/us-senate… @cspan
A notable race in what has been ruby-red Indiana: Democrat Beau Bayh beat his opponent by 9 percentage points in a state President Trump won by nearbly 19 percentage points in 2024.

In 2028, I expect Democrats to make a big play for Indiana, much like then Senator Obama did in 2008. And Bayh will likely be a key player. archive.nytimes.com/www.nyti…
RIP to Senator Rockefeller. He was a powerful senator but more importantly, a good man. In his later years, after he left the Senate, I had the honor of talking with him from time to time about his life and lessons learned. Prayers for his wonderful family, especially his wife, Sharon.
John D. “Jay” Rockefeller IV, an heir to a vast oil fortune and a liberal Democrat who entered politics in his adopted home state of West Virginia, serving as governor and a five-term U.S. senator, died Friday. He was 89. wapo.st/4ABt3Pl

NEW and BREAKING: DOJ is actively pursuing a criminal investigation into SCOTUS Dobbs leak. Investigation is being run by Judge Jeanine. Prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas seeking testimony from those who worked at the court. Bottom line: Trump DOJ is examining inner workings of SCOTUS which has long guarded its secrecy and resisted oversight from the other branches. nytimes.com/2026/11/05/us/po…

Spoke w/ Pastor Adam Hamilton. Told me that he has been able to make inroads with people of faith by talking about matters of character, dignity... he also noted that many voters he encountered are unsettled by Trump admin. conduct on ICE, tariffs and were willing to listen to him, even in a red state...

President Trump told CBS News' Robert Costa that he's prepared to use his executive powers and be "Mr. Veto" if Democrats take control of the House.
"He's willing to really push the Democrats to the brink should they win the House majority," @costareports. following a phone call with the president. "What's most interesting is that he believes regardless of what happens, he has expansive executive powers right now." cbsnews.com/midterms/
Trump Threatens in New CBS Interview to Use ‘Tremendous Executive Powers’ if GOP Loses mediaite.com/media/news/trum…
"I have the ultimate power — it's called 'veto,'" President Trump told CBS News in an exclusive phone interview before polls closed across the country in this year's midterm elections, when asked about the prospect of a Democratic-controlled Congress next year.
Trump says he is prepared to veto Democratic legislation if necessary, and he welcomes the moniker "Mr. Veto," in terms of describing his approach to Democrats, should they win a majority in the House or Senate.
Pollsters have been predicting some GOP losses and in late October, CBS News' polling suggested Republicans could be on track to lose control of the House.
Still, President Trump remained optimistic on Tuesday when asked about the Republican Party's chances during the phone interview. And he said that regardless of the results and the makeup of Congress next year, he feels confident about his ability to pursue his agenda in the coming two years.
