That challenge on Dowman was so, so dangerous. It’s the follow through from Neal that’s super dangerous. The reaction should be the least of anybody’s concerns but in this country, for some reason, we glamourise that kind of crap. ‘A proper cup tie challenge’, ‘blood & thunder of the football league’ and all the rest of it…
You're right, @elonmusk. Someone has grown very rich off money flowing from Ukraine. I work in Starlink supply to Ukraine, so I see these numbers firsthand.
Ukrainians bought 117,000 terminals in September alone (~$42M), plus monthly subscriptions for each one. And that's just official commercial imports. Not counting government contracts, donor-funded deliveries, direct orders from your website or grey imports.
No laundry machines needed. It goes straight to SpaceX.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t even matter if Zelenskyy is President of Ukraine or not. @ZelenskyyUa
Putin’s goal is to take Ukraine. Then he will take Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and he will make his way through all of Europe.
People obsess over personalities too much.
You could have an election in Ukraine tomorrow and Putin would still find a reason to be at war.
Russia INVADED Ukraine.
Not the other way around.
Zelenskyy’s removal from office won’t stop Russian imperialism.
It’s not about Zelenskyy. It’s about Putin. It’s always been about Putin.

Sunderland spent 8 YEARS in the Championship. One season back in the Premier League and they’re already playing in Europe.
Brighton are in Europe.
Bournemouth are in Europe — a club that was practically on its knees when Eddie Howe took over.
Crystal Palace are in Europe AGAIN after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
And somehow we’re still being told the Premier League is a “closed shop”? 😂
Look at what’s happening:
Brighton went 2-0 down to Man United in the Carabao Cup and came back to win 3-2.
Three days later, they absolutely dismantled Arsenal.
Brentford put three past Chelsea that same weekend.
Hull came up from the Championship and have already beaten United and taken a point at Stamford Bridge. They’re sitting 8th.
Where exactly is this “no chance for smaller clubs” argument coming from?
And I genuinely don't understand the “red cartel” argument either.
Arsenal waited 22 years for another league title.
Liverpool have won two league titles in roughly four decades.
United haven't won the Premier League in 13 years.
So what exactly is PSR supposedly protecting these clubs from? 😂
Trophies?
Because over the last decade, the clubs collecting the most silverware have been Manchester City and Chelsea — the same clubs at the centre of major financial-rule controversies.
Yet somehow we're supposed to believe the problem is everyone else.
At some point, you have to take responsibility.
“We had no choice.”
Yes, you did.
Brighton had the same choice.
So did Brentford.
So did Bournemouth.
They built gradually, developed players, recruited intelligently and stayed within the framework.
And now they're competing at the top end of English football.
Maybe the problem isn't that the door is closed.
Maybe some clubs simply don't like the fact that everyone has to walk through the same door now. 😭
PSR hasn't stopped competition.
If anything, look at the clubs breaking through and tell me the competition is dead.
The excuses need to stop. 😤

Crazy that City have irrefutable evidence that they are innocent but they haven’t bothered to show it before now 🤪 You don’t get found guilty of 114 charges if you have irrefutable evidence that you’re innocent. It’s mad that there are City fans who still believe these lies.

"Of course. We can do what we want.”
That's the line, in the hacked emails published by Der Spiegel in 2018, that sums up the sense of entitlement that fuelled Manchester City's cheating under this ownership.
In the past, yes, you could do what you want, spend what you like. That was no longer sustainable in an era of clubs being bought by oligarchs, sovereign wealth funds and politicians with the wealth of a nation behind them. There are things I deeply dislike about FFP/PSR/SCR, but this #MCFC ownership model, among others, made financial regulation necessary. And then, as anyone who has read the material could have concluded even before the Premier League case began, they behaved like the rules shouldn't apply to them.
Personally I struggle with the Lance Armstrong talk. There is a huge difference between a) a cyclist pumping himself full of performance-enhancing drugs as part of what USADA called “the most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping program that sport has ever seen”, and b) breaches of financial regulations. Yes there are parallels — financial doping, as Arsene Wenger called it — but there are considerable differences too. This desperation to portray #MCFC players, managers and staff (even supporters) as cheats? Not for me.
But the damage to City's reputation is enormous. And the Premier League must now accept that a huge chunk of its recent history will be tainted and overshadowed by the findings of its regulatory commission. The question of sanctions — and then, possibly, compensation claims — will be complicated and fiercely divisive. Turbulence lies ahead for the Premier League as well as for Manchester City. So much of what has happened in the Premier League since the early 2010s is now tainted. What we don't yet know is how the damage done might shape the future

The same guys who told Arteta to take accountability and stop blaming referees are now telling you referees favour Arsenal.
The same guys who called Arsenal soft and told us to grow a spine are now complaining about our physicality.
The same guys who told Arsenal to learn the “dark arts” now complain about our game management.
The same guys who turned every Arsenal celebration into a controversy now demand passionate players who connect with the fans.
The same guys who mocked our set pieces are hiring set-piece coaches.
The same guys who mocked the “Arteta process” now want young managers, cultural resets and long-term projects.
At some point you realise it was never really about any of those things.
They just don’t like Arsenal.

Last season Spurs and Chelsea didn't qualify for Europe, Brighton, Bournemouth and Sunderland did. The reigning champions finished 5th. Manchester United only played 40 games and weren't in Europe. The PL champion hadn't won the league for 22 years.
A new form of financial governance is needed. Having given it some thought, surely a wage cap is the way forward? Perhaps an anchor for transfer spending (net spend) every season that no clubs can exceed by a set amount? The current UEFA and PL model has pulled up the drawbridge and in danger of creating everything the Super League clubs wanted
