We could have a Columbus Crew 2 vs LAFC 2 MLS Next Pro Championship in Columbus (mimicking the 2023 MLS Cup final).
Crew96Times@Crew96Times16h
LAFC 2 takes down Austin FC II in a massive upset in Texas 👀 With this victory, if LAFC wins the conference final next weekend *and* Columbus takes down Chattanooga in Tennessee, Crew 2 will *host* the 2026 MLS Next Pro championship in Columbus! #Crew96 | #MLSNextPro

Need Inter Miami to start scoring goals so RedBulls do not jump us in the standings.

Today is the second to last home game of the season. The Crew needs all the points it can get and help from other results to make it into the playoffs.

MATCH DAY Another day, another cup on the line. 🏆 Today at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field it's the Trillium Cup 🌸 and the Crew are going for FIVE in a row.
The Cup is named for the trillium, which is both Ohio's state wildflower and Ontario's official flower. The two clubs have played for it every year since 2008, Toronto's second MLS season. Columbus owns this one: 11 Cup titles, a 20–16–13 all-time record, and four straight Cups (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025). You want drama? In 2010, Crew goalkeeper William Hesmer went forward and scored a last-minute equalizer. It was only the second goal ever scored by a keeper in MLS history. 🧤⚽ (check it out below). Where we stand this year:
Toronto FC won the first game 2–1 at BMO Field on March 21. That means Toronto leads 3–0 on points heading into today. The tiebreakers are away goals first, then goal difference. How today plays out:
✅ Win with a clean sheet: the Cup stays in Columbus on away goals
✅ Win 3–1 or better: the Cup stays in Columbus on goal difference ❌ Win where TFC scores 2+: Toronto takes it on away goals ❌ Draw or loss: Toronto takes it
Bottom line: we need to win, plus either a clean sheet or a big margin. Kickoff is 3:30 ET. Let's keep it in Columbus. If the Crew win today and RBNY loses to Miami, we move into 9th place in the East (back into the play-in spot for playoffs). 🖤💛 #Crew96

I have been to multiple away days. A few KC, couple CHI, Denver recently. Columbus was a much different feel. It felt really similar to what it’s like in STL. Great fans who know the sport well, cool new stadium, amazing atmosphere. Columbus was electric, huge props to the Crew and their fans for that!

The last goal scored by the Crew in a USOC Final was 2010 in Seattle (against former Crew coach Sigi Schmid). Crew Captain Frankie Hejduk involved in the attack and Kevin Burns scored the only goal of his Crew career. No doubt Frankie will be in attendance tonight to see history in the making!

From the legendary Crewstorian Steve Sirk:
Steve Sirk@stevesirkOct 20
The excitement of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final prompted a new #Crew96 essay. 2002 was special, 2026 is a Crew cup run unlike any other, and CLB-STL is a cool matchup of soccer cities. I can't wait for Wednesday.
