FORD HYPERCAR: CADILLAC’S NEW RIVAL IN THE WEC? 🏁🇺🇸 Ford is preparing its return to the top level of endurance racing in 2027, and expectations are high. But in my opinion, the biggest challenge won’t simply be building a fast car. It will be competing on equal terms with manufacturers that already know what it takes to succeed in this category. Cadillac is currently one of the most interesting benchmarks for this comparison. Its V-Series.R has accumulated years of development, experience at Le Mans, and a technical operation that has already proven capable of fighting for wins and championships. Ford, meanwhile, will have to turn a promising project into a machine capable of surviving 24 hours of racing without sacrificing competitiveness. There are reasons to believe in Ford’s potential. The Coyote V8, the chassis developed by Oreca, and the brand’s extensive motorsports experience make for an intriguing combination. However, heritage and financial resources don’t guarantee immediate results. Hybrid system integration, reliability, and aerodynamic efficiency will be crucial. My prediction? Ford could surprise everyone and even win races in its debut season, but I think it’s too early to put the team on the same level as Cadillac before we see both cars competing under real racing conditions. In endurance racing, outright speed is only part of the equation. If Ford gets the development right, we could be in for a spectacular rivalry.
