Willing to put down 2000 Euros on this not happening this year. Or ever, for that matter.
Trump says he expects to meet with Putin and Zelensky soon and believes significant progress is being made toward ending the Russia-Ukraine war. He said a meeting will be arranged “very soon” and clarified that it would involve both the Russian and Ukrainian presidents. #Ukraine
Sachs is such a charlatan. It is astonishing to me that anyone with an ounce of functioning brain takes this idiot seriously.
Replying to @Mylovanov
Sachs: NATO must declare it is not expanding to Ukraine, Georgia or anywhere else. It must return to its Feb 1990 commitments, which are legally binding.
[No such commitment was ever signed. Gorbachev himself said in 2014 that NATO expansion was not discussed back then] 3/

Quite. My thoughts too. Read like Kremlin disinformation, based on the testimony of three unreliable sources over the clear denials of more credible sources, designed to discredit Zelensky and reinforce Trump narrative.
This would seem a great story. But puzzling anyone would take the word of Putin's close Stasi buddy on Putin's claimed willingness to withdraw from regions he just annexed over the view of US government, & give such weight to Putin's nuclear sabre-rattling ft.com/content/dcb57f30-bbfe…
Bro let me introduce you to our based trad (fucks his former secretary while still being officially married) PM who ran on anti-migration platform under whose government visa limits on south and central Asians been lifted and we see largest migration wave in history lol

For some reason racist Polish potatoheaded Boomers want to import 250,000 low-wage migrant laborers from everywhere from Colombia to the DR Congo in a single year but then also insist that this is not mass immigration and they are not doing mass immigration, this is uhhh ??!?

Ratcliffe has a foot in two worlds: advising a president who’s continuously at odds with Ukraine’s leadership, and running an agency that’s essential to Ukraine’s war for survival. One intelligence officer in the Baltics, among the more than a dozen sources I talked to for this story, told me that, though you’d never know it from Trump’s rhetoric, the CIA’s operations in Ukraine are now “much more aggressive” than they were during the Biden administration.

Genetic studies. He really is just the average deranged sovok boomer who should have been getting piss-drunk and ranting about conspiracy theories rather than running a country.
The coward blocked me a long time ago but forward him this article.
Joining NATO became strategic imperative as early as 1993 for Baltics who already were pitching it to Western leadership. The ''argument'' about referenda is also stupid because we are parliamentary Republics and in parliamentary Republics you don't need referendum at all - political parties run on platforms and every single party which went on to form majority coalitions ran on explicit NATO/EU membership.
Peter Hitchens is a bloviating moron and there's nothing else to say to that.

Not true. For the Baltics, joining NATO was more important than joining the EU. As it happened, we joined both in 2004.

Watch whatever this is about push failed Trump attempt to end the Russia-Ukraine war nr. 94 out of the news cycle.
Moscow will find that the US can't deliver what it wants, again, while Kyiv will need to find more workarounds to compensate for US ineptitude, again

Putin's rejected all offers so far (Ukraine has agreed to all). Why should he now of all times - with US President signaling that he's ride or die for Russia - agree to anything but his maximalist demands? Trump ensured the incentive structure guaranteeing Kremlin's intransigence

What's remarkable about this clip (which I've now watched five times to see if I'm missing something) is that Rubio's own analysis leads inexorably to the conclusion that the current US position -- placing the onus for peace on Ukraine -- makes no sense even in its own terms.

One thing Trump is terrible at is keeping secrets. Listen to this foreshadowing. And remember it when a "new initiative" from the "right Ukrainians" surfaces in a month or so.
We know that Peter Hitchens likes Vladimir Putin. And Putin thinks Ukraine is a part of Russia.
But Peter Hitchens is a coward who won't say what he thinks on this.

What can be done to stop the fighting and to make sure it doesnt happen again? You say that its easy for him to say carry on the fight from a safe place but seems like you are telling Ukraine to surrender from your safe place as well.
Whats a path forward for both sides?

It’s astonishing that even nearly 13 years later, this unremarkable exchange continues to be the foundational myth of a US-sponsored coup in Ukraine. This has to have been one of the most successful operations by the FSB, ever.
Incidentally, the “fuck the EU” part was also well-deserved, as the Europeans were slow-walking everything while also having a Russian informant as part of their delegation: the Latvian MEP Tatjana Ždanoka, who was reporting to her FSB handler Beltyukov. She later served as an “international observer” in the fake Crimea referendum, and is still co-chair of the Latvian Russian Union.
Arguing about the legitimacy of Yanukovych's removal when he simply abandoned his post (but only after his entourage cleaned all of his estates of everything that wasn't bolted down) is the kind of nit-picky argumentation that Hitchens has to resort to because his entire thesis about this war is baseless. So he connects these irrelevant events, factoids and anecdotes to weave a story.

Weren’t “enough votes” in Parlt (2% short) as absconders were corrupt criminals - fled to Russia. Most of Yanukovych’s party crossed floor. Security forces upheld the vote & turned from Yanukovych, as did Kharkiv. Subsequent vote for Poroshenko was unequivocal vindication.

Last night, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck an airfield in the Voronezh region. Four Su-34 aircraft were destroyed and two more Su-34s were hit. The Russians used them to terrorize our people. These very warplanes were ready to launch new attacks on Ukraine and were loaded with aerial bombs.
Our Long Neptune missile was used to strike the target. I thank the warriors of the Ukrainian Navy for their precision!
Our long-range sanctions also reached a site in the Oryol region used to store and launch attack drones. A target was also hit in the Black Sea.
These are our justified responses to all of Russia’s terror against Ukraine. Russia is dragging out the war, so our long-range operations will continue.
