PLAYERS: You may get sick of hearing it, but if you’re watching the Final Four you will believe:
“Defense wins championships.”
“Make your free throws.”

If I'm a college coach looking at a kid, FIRST thing I'm looking at is if they're a liability defensively. If they can't defend, they can't play.

Players: Shooting adds up:
200 extra makes x 5 days a week x 50 wks a year=50,000 extra makes a year
400 extra makes x 5 days a week x 50 wks a year= 100,000 extra makes a year
How could you not be a great shooter making an extra 100,000 shots a year?
Why aren’t you doing it?

There are 3 things all of the teams in the #NCAA #MarchMadness tournament must do in order to win. They need to focus on the next play, they need to focus on what they can control and they need to focus on the process.

Playing or practicing with a bad attitude is the same thing as playing hurt. There's NO WAY you'll be as effective with a negative mindset.

High IQ defenders know the difference between a possible steal and probable steal. They know that ultimately ball containment is what’s most important and won’t gamble themselves out of the play, triggering defensive rotations.

Winners would rather be FEARED than LIKED. They don't compete to make friends, they compete to WIN, plain and simple.

WINNERS persist, are positive and compete when things go bad for them or their team. LOSERS pout, quit and blame others.

Greatness isn’t achieved by worrying what everyone thinks of you. Don’t look outside. The praise, criticism, expectations; it’s all just noise. Look inside to your heart and soul and do your thing. Do it with love and create greatness from the inside out.
Congrats to Desert Canyon Middle School for their undefeated season and for being named District Champs!! The future looks bright for DM girls basketball. @DCMSSUSD
