The claim of 50% immigrant RAF pilots in the Battle of Britain is inaccurate. Official figures show ~2,927 total pilots, with 574 (~20%) non-British, mainly from Poland (145), New Zealand (135), Canada (112), and Czechoslovakia (88).
Polish pilots were highly effective, downing ~203 enemy aircraft.
No Sikh or Muslim pilots participated in the Battle (Jul-Oct 1940), though Indian pilots, including Sikhs and Muslims, served in the RAF later in WWII.
Their overall contributions were vital, but the 50% figure doesn't hold.
