Really like this, delighted it echoes my point the other day about the two who aren't selected being offered the chance to be part of a leadership group that can elevate us.
1/6 The SDP deserves a clear direction and a leader who makes the most of the talent within our party. If elected, I will invite Sebastian Moore and Eleanor Rofe to join my leadership team. We each bring different strengths. I want us working together for the party we share.

I have to say I'm really enjoying listening back to the leadership hustings. Regardless of who is chosen to take the party forward, I hope the other candidates form part of their close circle and work together because they all have real qualities. Lucky to have them. @SDPhq

Events like this could be a great grassroots market for the @SDPhq in Scotland. The Blue Labour movement can thrive here under the banner of the SDP. It's our time, the future belongs to us. @BaloghStephen @moore4sdp @eleanorrofe @WilliamsAdamUK

The simple answer is yes, a blue labour movement can work here. It can work under the banner of the @SDPhq @SDPScot if those in Scotland are brave enough to stand together and join us. This is your moment, this is our moment. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Unfortunately, due to work and family commitments, I won't be able to make it, but I hope everyone has a great time at the conference. Ultimately, I hope the party benefits and grows from events like this.
The Social Democratic Party is gathering in Scarborough this Saturday, 31st October, for its annual Party Conference. SDP Chair @BaloghStephen said: “In these days of insurgent party politics, a question always hangs over challenger parties: are they strong and well founded enough to survive the departure of their leader and main inspiration? It now falls to us in the SDP to show, through the election of a new Party Leader and beyond, that we are far from a personality cult with a party attached." Supremacy and Supremacist seem to be Sinn Fein's buzzwords these days.
The comments by DUP leader Gavin Robinson today were arrogant and supremacist. The DUP is consumed with their own internal leadership troubles and divisions. They are in turmoil. The days of domination and supremacy are over. The days of treating people like second class citizens are over. There will be no going back. Not now, and not ever. I, as First Minister, will be at the Assembly on Monday morning, along with Sinn Féin’s Ministers, to continue our work. We will keep showing up every day for people.

Beautifully put. If you're not making British lives better as a British politician, what on earth are you doing?

Working people deserve fair wages. Families deserve affordable homes. Our communities deserve safe streets and public services that work. Politics must be about delivering practical solutions, restoring trust, and putting the national interest first.

🏭 Economically: Rebuilding British industry, renationalising key utilities & railways, and building 100,000 social homes a year. 🏰 Culturally: Protecting the traditional family unit, backing strong community cohesion, and championing our national heritage.

Politics is broken, but it doesn't have to stay that way. From North to South, East to West, the Social Democratic Party is putting public interest ahead of self serving agendas. Stand with us 🇬🇧 @SDPhq sdp.org.uk/?recruiter_id=561…

🚨BREAKING: Israel has detained an SNP MP and a Greens MSP who were attempting to enter Palestine

Lara Bird and Kate Nevens serving their constituents by being detained in Israel while attempting to get to Palestine. Another SNP & Greens circus. Scotland continues to deteriorate while our MPs & MSPs are off pretending to be heroes somewhere else.

Great to see a healthy campaign for @SDPhq leadership. I have emailed @eleanorrofe @WilliamsAdamUK & @moore4sdp with some questions specific to me. I have in mind who I'll be endorsing but felt it only fair to ask all 3. Regardless of the outcome, they all have a part to play.

“The riots in France are yet more evidence that the global liberalism pursued by successive British and European governments has been a catastrophic mistake. In a few generations, our political class has committed a nation-altering blunder of epic scale, and in doing so, it has surrendered the hard-won achievements of centuries." Shameful from @RhonddaBryant bowing to Republican mob rule. We see you, dangerous precedent set. Why should people abide by the law? Once again the Loyalist people of Northern Ireland are trampled on by the British government. Take note, never Labour.

This intervention is a very welcome development. This cannot go on indefinitely. Not only costing the public purse an inordinate amount which we can ill afford, but more importantly, the people of the Garvaghy Rd deserve & NEED to get back to normality
Welcome this development, the provision for which the SDLP has been highlighting throughout this crisis. Time for Garvaghy residents to be allowed to return to normality, for Stormont to get on with addressing public services & all of us get back to the work of reconciliation.
