Armed Customs & Border Patrol agents stopped a person right in front of a polling place in Key Largo which is prohibited in Florida. It’s where people from different National Origins come to vote. A bartender was able to record the whole thing & he says it was deliberate.

Opinion columnist Paul Krugman observes that Lula won by 3 percentage points, twice Trump’s margin when he was re-elected. “Knife-edge vote”? Lula won by 3 percentage points, twice Donald Trump’s margin in 2024. Link to Substack: paulkrugman.substack.com/p/t…

BREAKING!! Seven bipartisan lawmakers warn U.S. banks, fuel distributors and port authorities that importing Russian diesel could invite legal action and congressional scrutiny, while helping fund Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

LaTanya Ri'Chard of People's Action Institute at the Hands Off Our Elections rally: "You can't steal an election. If people don't want to vote for you, just let them not vote for you." "It's not right. It's not fair. And it's un-American." → vote.org

This is a lie.
The thing they said doesn't happen is happening again. There is a minimum of 20,000 noncitizens on California voter rolls. Pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT and secure our elections.

It's almost like institutional investors don't like the left and hold national policy hostage using market scares and the most slaverly of market watchers to propagandise for the classic slate of right wing economics policies.
Brazil dodged a bullet this night! >Stock market crashes 20~% >Real Dollar value -10~% >Lula promises to regulate STRONGLY social media >Lula promises to persecute political opponents Horay we defeated fascism.

It is past the time for people to abandon their faux moral naivety about the Trump family. They are not legitimate political figures in a liberal democracy. They are an authoritarian faction and a corrupt, criminal organization with a robust propaganda operation.
From one of the 12 bishops who prayed over Trump: "I did not go without reservations. I wish I had heeded them. Please know that I have heard these concerns, understand how I caused them, and I apologize for any damage my actions have done." archmil.org/posts/a-public-a…

Do you think the NYT commentariat is going to extoll the Republican party to get in touch with the urban proletariat after this election like they always do to Democrats after D's lose huge in elections?

A) this seems to massively exaggerate the roll of a WhatsApp group in Lula's win B) PT is less robust but it is a paradigmatic non-hyperpolitics mass party of the sort we've supposedly lost C) they won one of the most significant elections for democracy in Brazil's history
Hyperpolitics in command. Lula's comeback fueled by vertical video & a WhatsApp chat run by someone not even in the PT (ofc I'm thrilled at the result).

These 10M Brasilians in a WhatsApp chat understand winning politics better than 99.9999% of Dem consultants lol

One of more interesting pro-voter moves this fall: After years of attacks against popular initiatives, organizers in MO and MT are pushing two measures that'd give their states arguably the strongest legal protections in the country for direct democracy: boltsmag.org/missouri-and-mo…

One of the most important political realizations you can have as an adult is recognizing that capitalism and democracy don't mix.

The fact that Brazilian markets panicked and crashed the three times Lula was previously elected (and are doing so a fourth time now), only to boom during his terms in office, poses a real challenge to the efficient market hypothesis.

Elon Musk didn’t create Tesla. He bought it. He didn’t create X. He bought Twitter and ruined it. He didn’t invent the rockets, propulsion systems or telemetry of SpaceX. He used NASA tech and poached their engineers. He’s a venture capitalist and a college dropout. That’s it.

There are no Russian conscripts on the frontline.
Replying to @skscartoon
The endless slaughter of Ukrainian and Russians must stop. We should some sympathy for the poor Russian conscripts too. Those kids have no choice but to fight and die in drone strikes.

Honey, we don’t give a fuck about russian conscripts. They shouldn’t have invaded an independent country and expected the invaders to be welcomed here.

I mean this is obviously true. If a Democrat President does something that Elon doesn't like, what happens?
If Musk can disable Starlink against the Ukrainian or other European militaries, he can also disable it against the US government. Musk's brain is so utterly fried that in trying to prevent US state intervention he is making claims that make nationalisation of SpaceX more likely
