The conditions allowing for the safe return of Ms. Machado to Venezuela is the direct result of the U.S. supported reconciliation talks which has already seen hundreds of political prisoners freed and hundreds of political opposition figures return from exile.
The United States expects the freedoms of all sectors of Venezuelan politics to continue to be respected. Likewise, we expect all political actors to support these talks which represent the best chance Venezuela has had in thirty years to peacefully achieve not just a free and fair election but an enduring democracy.

Milton Friedman: “Keep your eye on one thing and one thing only: how much government is spending, because that’s the true tax.”
“If you’re not paying for it in the form of explicit taxes, you’re paying for it indirectly in the form of inflation or borrowing.”

Young people think they want socialism because they’ve been marinating in socialist propaganda—administered by their educators, the news media, and the entertainment media—since they were toddlers.
The propaganda is an unmitigated lie.
But it’s so ubiquitous that it seems true.

What killed ~32,000 Europeans this summer wasn’t “climate change.”
It was extreme heat hitting a continent where most households have no air conditioning—thanks in large part to energy policies driven by climate alarmism.
Stop conflating climate change with climate alarmism.

The anti-conservative debanking effort likely never could have succeeded in the absence of cartel behavior by the participating banks.
Such behavior carries heavy penalties imposed by federal antitrust laws.
Federal finance authorities have identified the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “hate group” labels as the driving force behind the debanking of conservative individuals and organizations, particularly clients that were giving to Christian causes. trib.al/038EjJd

Lydia brings up a good point: Government entitlement programs are effectively bribes. Democrats have been promising more and more of them for decades, and look at the result.

There’s a world of difference between user-authorized agents (Muse, Instinct, Grokbot, etc.) and true unauthorized/rogue agents that could constitute cyberattacks.
Most of the activity described in the Axios story appears to be the former: customers sharing credentials with agents so they can take actions on their behalf. This may violate bank terms requiring humans to log in themselves, but these are in no way cyberattacks.
The direction banks should go is to support user-directed agents. For example, Amex is an authorized connection in Muse, making it easy for users to grant, limit, and revoke access.
Read-only permission levels are a sensible interim step. Several banks already support or are moving toward them. Full write access (with user credentials) is a different risk category and should be approached carefully.
Frightening the public by blurring the line between user-authorized agentic behavior and cyberattacks is irresponsible.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

Okay that was just funny.
Never underestimate a returned LDS missionary. Especially one that served a foreign language mission. There’s something about knocking on thousands of doors, teaching about Christ in a new language, and being a stranger in a strange land that means it’s hard to be intimidated.
That poor professor never stood a chance. 😆

Great! Huge step for stopping fraud.
BREAKING: The Social Security Administration confirms to @FoxNews that it has just undertaken its largest cleanup of Social Security Numbers in the agency's 91-year history, correcting nearly 15% of all U.S. citizen SSNs (roughly 50 million out of 330 million). The changes include:
- Adding 17 million dates of death to files that previously didn't have them w/ help from State Dept.
- With help from DHS, updating 25 million files that had missing citizenship information.
- Correcting an additional 8.5 million records with inaccurate citizenship data.
SSNs are referenced by agencies across the federal government and in states to validate identities and prevent improper payment of tax dollars.
