Then there’s the staff and the roster turnover at the end of the year, plus a new coach … USC would be looking at around a $50 million fee, and the school simply doesn’t have it. While there would always be a chance somebody would pony up and pay the bill, who would it be? The only man with that kind of scratch and willingness to help is sadly no longer with us.
