Steelers RB splits this week: Jaylen Warren -- 62% of the snaps, 21 touches, 6.5 yards per touch Rico Dowdle -- 44% of the snaps, 15 touches, 5.7 yards per touch
Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle combined for 223 yards from scrimmage. Only on X would people bitch about Dowdle having 15 touches for 85 yards, 5.7 yds/touch, because Warren had 6.5 yds/touch on his 21 touches. STFU. #Steelers

Steelers offensive ranks since Week 3 (when they made the switch on the right side of their O-Line): ⬇️ - 7th in Points Per Game - 9th in EPA/Play - 13th in Success Rate - 18th in Dropback EPA - 1st in Rushing EPA (by a wide margin) The Steelers passing game isn't good enough at this point for this to be a truly elite offense overall, but what they do have is a truly elite run game, which prevents them from being a bad offense. In fact, it's elevates them to being a pretty darn good one. #HereWeGo

Per @NextGenStats Pittsburgh and New Orleans combined for eight drives of 11-plus plays, the most in a non-overtime game and tied for the most in an NFL game since at least 2000

First play of #Steelers final drive that sealed the victory. This is what Rico Dowdle saw. He cut this back behind #66 & gained 17 yds. Great vision, broke two tackles in the secondary & finished in Saints territory.

For about a week, three people lived in the front seat of a U-Haul in a Walmart parking lot. The mother drove. The older brother sat in the middle. The youngest slept against the passenger door. They could not run the engine for the air conditioning, so in the afternoons they walked around inside the Walmart. The kid against the door is six foot seven now. His name is Darnell Washington, he plays tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and this morning in France he caught a touchdown in a Steelers win. Mike DeFabo wrote the rest of it down. The family had been evicted. He finished his freshman year sleeping on a friend's couch, and when that friend moved they packed the truck without knowing where they were going. After the parking lot they scraped together enough for a few nights at a motel. Here is how he says it. "I was homeless a lot." "I probably can't even put a number on how many apartments we lost." The family moved every four or five months. He was in foster care until the third grade. He enrolled at Desert Pines High School in Nevada as a sophomore and was selling raffle tickets for the football team when an assistant coach named David Hill found him in the weight room. Hill asked where they were living. Then he started paying their rent out of his own pocket, chased down donated shoes, and sometimes put the family up in his own house. Here is what Washington says about that. "If he didn't do that, we'd be back on the streets." In his first year at that school he won a state championship in football, a state championship in basketball, and a state title in the shot put. Then Georgia, where he won two national championships and mostly blocked, because Brock Bowers was there and the ball went to Brock Bowers. "When I wasn't getting the ball more, I had to embrace something." The Steelers took him in the third round in 2023. Now the brother. Ezekiel is a year older. He got straight A's, he ran training laps carrying a weighted pack, and Darnell says he always did the right thing. Ezekiel joined the Marines. So Darnell made him a promise. The first time he ever scored in the NFL, whatever else happened, he was going to salute. In September of 2024 he caught a five yard pass against Denver for the first touchdown of his career, stood up in the end zone, and saluted. "I saluted for my brother. He serves right now in Washington D.C." "So I just told him the first touchdown, that's what I'm going do. So that's what I did." Be straight about what he is. He caught 57 passes in his first three seasons combined. He is a blocker who scores about once a year, and this is his fourth season. But in June the Steelers gave him four years and 42 million dollars, and a man who spent a week of his childhood sleeping upright in a parking lot does not have to wonder where he is staying tonight. What is the smallest thing somebody once did for you that changed everything. For more stories like this, follow us on any platform @thesportsontap

"J.J. McCarthy was legitimately good." "I don't undestand how this didn't work [in Minnesota]." @BillSimmons praises J.J. McCarthy's performance against the Texans and wonders why Kevin O'Connell wasn't able to get this type of play out of him while in Minnestota.

best actor award goes to the Broncos WR seeing Bo Nix running 15 yards past the line of scrimmage and flashes his hands like there's a pass coming his way so the DB doesn't realize Nix is right behind him

The Steelers broke out an old favorite on Sunday -- the Jumbo package -- and it was the catalyst for their best rushing performance of the season in a 16-10 win over the Saints. Here's a breakdown on how Jumbo unlocked the run game. @SteelCNetwork

Aaron’s Rodgers is the reason the #Steelers are pretty good & also the reason they aren’t really good. He once was a QB w a very high ceiling. He’s now best described as a QB w a very high floor. Is what it is.

Every week it’s one head coach or another. Billion dollar business. Ten cent game management. #Jets
" Maybe we should've called our timeouts to get it back, but at that point, we just felt like we were going to stop them and be able to get the ball back" Aaron Glenn says the Jets should've used their timeouts at the end of the first half:

Don’t spike the ball on the goal posts, but do this? Jameis stuff has passed the expiration date.
Jameis Winston scored a rushing TD and then had the team play duck, duck, goose as a TD celebration 😂😂

The Saints could not establish the run game in Paris, averaging just 1.06 yards per rush. QB Tyler Shough was their leading rusher with just 7 yards. The Saints are the first team without a 10-yard rusher in a game since the Bucs in Week 4 of the 2022 season. 😬
