Saman Abbas was 18 years old and had a clear idea of how she wanted to live.
She didn’t want to marry an older man in Pakistan. She had reported her parents for abuse. She wanted to choose whom to love, how to dress, and how to live. To her family, those choices were an affront that had to be punished.
According to prosecutors, on the night of April 30 into May 1, 2021, in Novellara, in northern Italy, she was killed in a carefully planned crime. It wasn’t a moment of rage; it was a punishment prepared in advance.
Now, the Court of Cassation, Italy’s highest court, has rejected all appeals and upheld the convictions.
Her father, Shabbar Abbas, and her mother, Nazia Shaheen, were sentenced to life in prison. So were two of Saman’s cousins, Ijaz Ikram and Noman Ul Haq. Her uncle, Danish Hasnain, was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
All for saying no to a marriage she hadn’t chosen.

Ok, I’m going to explain this, and some people are really not going to like the answer.
They don't HATE David Sabatini. They hate what he represents and that's the Patriarchy.
In practice, it is the entire operating system of the society they're trying to tear down. Where it applies to Sabatini, it's the high stakes, competitive, status-driven style of science that once defined elite labs, and everything that he personally stands for (straight, male, white).
In a culture that has undergone the “Great Feminization” (not my theory - Helen Andrews’s), institutions like MIT and the Whitehead were increasingly dominated by therapeutic empathy, risk aversion, and bureaucratic consensus over the open conflict, hierarchy, and outcome-focused competition that characterized traditionally masculine environments.
Sabatini’s lab was intense and high-output, and he has a strong record of minting other PIs (some of whom were women) who went on to run their own labs.
So the hunt for “bro culture” wasn’t primarily an evidentiary exercise about specific misconduct. It was an attempt to pathologize his lab, and by extension, him. The goal was to tar him as the worst possible person in the world and that is a bro who presided over bro culture.
You see, in feminist taxonomy, the bro is the lowliest of figures. He is the mediocre white man whose unearned power forged this nation, and in their mind this nation itself is bad and evil because of slavery and colonialism and oppression (of women and minorities) and all that.
On top of this, every woman is constantly bombarded with the theme of female empowerment from the moment they're toddlers, and once you combine this with narcissism and cluster-B personality disorders, suddenly you have feminist crusaders eager to reorder the institution's or the nation's norms.
If you doubt any of this, just run a quick thought experiment: could a figure like Richard Feynman exist in elite science today?

So what I'm saying is: it could've been any of you tenured male professors. The more accomplished, the better.
They were just waiting for a case to trigger the revolution.

How do gender surgeons use proxy diagnosis codes to justify mastectomies? Quite simple.
In Fox Varian’s first preop clinic visit, gender dysphoria is documented in the notes but the principal diagnosis listed is breast hypertrophy (N62).
During her second preop visit, three weeks later, the first sentence of the note says "The patient is approved for gender reassignment surgery.”
This is despite both clinic notes documenting "B- cup size breasts," which definitionally excludes breast hypertrophy as a diagnosis.
Soon after she undergoes surgery to remove her breasts. At no point in any of the clinical records from her trial is a single gender-related diagnosis ever listed.

Five to Six Masked Men Armed With Handguns Wanted in Violent Carjacking in Clarington
A 58-year-old man was assaulted and robbed during an armed carjacking involving five to six masked suspects in Clarington.
Durham Regional Police say the incident occurred Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 3 p.m. in the area of Clarington Concession Road 4 and Elliott Road.
The victim was driving in the area when an older-model black Dodge SUV pulled in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop.
Five to six masked men then exited the SUV and approached the victim's vehicle. One suspect reached through an open window, unlocked the door and forcibly pulled the victim out.
The victim was assaulted before the suspects searched his pockets and stole his wallet and cellphone. Investigators say several of the suspects were armed with handguns.
The suspects then stole the victim's 2026 Nissan Rogue and fled the scene.
The victim suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
Police describe the suspects as five to six males wearing face coverings. Two were dressed entirely in grey, while the remaining three to four were wearing all black.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage, surveillance video or information about the incident to come forward.
