🎥 A sensational three-night 'Fire and Light Experience' launched in Harrogate’s Valley Gardens last night!
Produced by @HarrogateFest, the town centre park will give way to dazzling displays celebrating the elements of fire and water.

Proudly independent Harrogate brewery @RoostersBrewCo is to donate 50p per pint to The UN Refugee Agency for Ukraine from its taproom - and it's match funding it. bit.ly/3pZsltg

What have a leading #Harrogate lawyer, an ex-spook who almost started World War III & a photographer who made a fly-on-the-wall documentary about 9/11 with the New York Fire Department got in common?
They are our fantastic SPEAKERS on Monday 7/2 at the Old Swan Hotel

Starting point is two diff councils NYCC and HBC as the junior partner. Anomalies between duties and a lack of consistency. Weeds is hbc, big, dangerous weeds is nycc.
David Simister retweeted
Now one unitary authority, responsible for the whole lot. Better as know who is responsible, can coordinate and creates cost savings.
Elections are May 22 are for current county council under diff boundaries. HG Central and Valley Gardens will combine.
David Simister retweeted
This will be a shadow Council before taking over in May 23.
Will there be a town council for HG though?
David Simister retweeted
Not yet decided. Parish Council for HG could control destiny depending on powers but is it replicating what is already in place with nycc.
Could be a ballot process but new nycc to decide....

HBC civic centre and depot will still be needd as HG is the most populous part of NY so could be a significant hub.

Grants from HBC have been a concern. HG is a significant grant giver. Relationships need to be built with NY and support for organisations with ED impact and local change like homeless project
