People constantly tell me to stay away from politics or that things really aren’t that bad. But I wake up every morning hearing from truck drivers across America who are working themselves to exhaustion and still can’t afford groceries for their families. This week alone, I watched two grown men break down in tears because they’re losing their homes. Not because they’re lazy. Not because they refuse to work. But because they’re already driving the maximum hours legally allowed, and it’s still not enough to survive. During COVID, these were the men who kept America moving. While the world shut down, they kept delivering your food, medicine, and everyday necessities. They were called essential workers. They were called heroes. Now they’re struggling to survive, and it feels like nobody cares. You can disagree with my politics all you want, but I will never be silent about watching hardworking Americans lose everything despite doing everything right. Without truck drivers, America stops. It’s time we start treating them like the backbone of this country that they are.
