How do datacenters get built and how GPU neoclouds actually get paid?
@MRRydon breaks down the economics behind AI compute 👇
A lot of people ask me how the GPU neocloud business works. So I thought I would provide a little bit of an example. This is how GPUs actually get paid for in this market using IREN's public numbers as a reference.
Step 1: the customer signs a multi-year take-or-pay contract and prepays. On IREN's recent 3-year contracts, prepayments covered 45% to 55% of the GPU cost.
Step 2: a lender funds most of the rest, secured by the contracted GPUs. For the Microsoft contract that was investment-grade financing at around 6%, which together with prepayments covers 96% of the GPU capex. For a customer without an investment-grade rating, it was 9% fixed.
Step 3: the data centre is a separate, long-life asset. IREN says it has funded construction with cash so far.
Recent 3-year contracts bring in more than $20M of revenue per MW and pay back the GPUs in around two years. At that payback, 9% instead of 6% on the loan barely changes the economics.
So the customer's prepayment and credit do most of the heavy lifting. Who the customer is matters far more than what the market thinks of AI on any given day, and I think that's the thing to follow.

“clearly not” according to whom? You?
That's an opinion. The claim , NEAR PR, grant date are facts. One of us is citing documents, the other is citing himself.
Nobody's deciding infringement on X, that's what courts are for.
I'm pointing out the timeline you keep skipping: filed 2021, cited 2023, granted july, removed september.
“failing to ship products” $ICP shipped this one in dec 2022. $NEAR shipped DFINITY paper as sloppy copy in 2024, called it "first of its kind". 🤣
Sorry mate, everything on $NEAR outside the token settlement layer is just Web3 LARPing and that's a fact.
Even on the settlement layer, governance is LARPing.
2025: vote fails, foundation ships it anyway.
CTO: "validators have the last word, always have."
HSP-029: a yes activates nothing. A vote that changes nothing either way isn't governance, it's cosplay.🤣
Then there's NEAR AI a web2 company with a ticker.
Jasnah Inc. runs the inference, picks the models, brokers the GPUs, bills you, and settles with the data centers.
The chain's job is to be in the name. Don't take my word for it, scroll to the footer on near.ai: “© Jasnah Inc., DBA NEAR AI.” doing business as. They wrote it down for you.🤣

Major ATH tokenomics update: we’re introducing daily ATH burns, funded by a share of network fees.
Every burn goes to a public burn address, where tokens are permanently removed from supply. The mechanism goes live in November.
We’re also replacing the fixed platform fee with a floating network fee, set by a published formula that reads market conditions. When the market weakens, the fee falls and the share that gets burned rises.
Cloud Hosts are protected by design: the fee can never exceed the value of Cloud Host rewards.
The underlying host emissions schedule remains unchanged. The update changes the fee mechanism applied around those rewards.
A dashboard tracking daily, monthly and cumulative ATH burned will be available in November.
Burns that follow real network activity, and you can check every one of them.

The wait is over shielded $ICP is now live.
Every transaction is private, even from the node providers running the network. Your send history, balances, and activity stay protected.
We built it to go beyond SEV’s limits, using pure cryptography so proofs are generated in your browser and verified on-chain without exposing anything.
$BTC is coming next.

It works with AI agents too. Three ways an agent can buy cycles:
1. Payment link: the agent sends you a link for your canister, you tap it and pay by card. No sign-in.
2. Order: the agent runs icp cycles buy, shows you the price, and on your yes gives you the checkout link. You pay, and it sees the cycles land and carries on.
3. ck-USDC: give the agent's identity a ck-USDC budget and it buys cycles on its own, no human needed.
With a card, the agent never pays and never sees your card.

Axe Compute has signed @WeAre_Penguin as a multi-year strategic partner for @AxeCompute Build, its build-to-order AI infrastructure program.
Penguin’s track record: 89,000+ GPUs deployed and managed, 33B+ hours of GPU runtime, and a five-year relationship helping Meta run 16,000 A100 GPUs in its Research SuperCluster.
Penguin also built and still runs SK Telecom’s Haein, one of Korea’s largest sovereign AI clusters, which was production-ready within weeks of the hardware arriving.
The job is to support Axe Compute as it moves more than $3.45B of contracted customer AI infrastructure projects into production.
Penguin will bring deployment and operational services, its ClusterWareAI software, and 24x7 network operations center coverage across multiple Axe Compute sites.
Axe keeps the customers, the capital, and the assets.

Nobody holds your whole key, not even OISY.
It's split into pieces across a network. When you approve a transaction, the pieces sign together, so there's no single place to take it from.
Today AXE rings the opening bell at Nasdaq. $AGPU .
More than $3.45 billion in signed contracts. Approximately $700 million in expected ARR in 2027.
Not going to pretend this one doesn’t feel good.
When you’re building, you spend most of your time focused on what hasn’t happened yet. The next deal. The next deployment. You rarely stop to appreciate how far you’ve come.
Today is a moment to pause and be grateful.
From the early days of Aethir to standing here, there’s a lot of work behind a moment like this. A lot of people who helped make it happen.
But the ambition was never to build something that only mattered inside crypto. It was to build infrastructure the rest of the world actually needed.
And for anyone still struggling to connect the dots: Aethir Foundation is AXE’s largest shareholder. AXE is also an infrastructure partner in Aethir ACCELERATE. We’re not watching this from the sidelines.
I see public-market access, enterprise relationships and infrastructure ownership as ways to take what we started at Aethir much further.
The bell is a moment to celebrate. Turning those contracts into operating infrastructure is the next chapter.
To the team, partners and community who have been part of this journey: this moment belongs to you too.
We’ll enjoy today. Then get back to building. The ambition is much bigger than what got us here.
This is just the beginning.
And anyone who thinks this isn’t a win for Aethir is ngmi.

Bro, you mean you are watching @dfinity build out all these genuine technologies and products like @oisy, MultiDex, @caffeineai, Cloud Engine, SaaS, enterprise migration systems, etc., left and right, but somehow you still don't believe people will use them?
You are watching the UN, its member countries, and the Pakistan government move in to partner with $ICP on building genuine products, but somehow you still don't see the marketing in all this or recognize the adoption potential?
You mean you are watching @dfinity move to register .icp with @ICANN, but somehow your mind is still telling you that $ICP is a scam simply because its price is not moving at the moment?
Bro, if I say you have a low IQ now, you will get mad at me. 🤗😂
$ICP is building beyond speculation. The technology, products, and adoption are what you should be paying attention to. The price will catch up later and when it do many of you will be holding only meme🤗. 🚀🚀

Don't let the math FUD scare you off. There are risks that the crypto industry will need to address just like the banks...
That said, those saying "quantum fears don't matter" may want to rethink their mental model.

That was its lowest average transaction fee of the past week.
Fees this small barely register.
