Surround yourself with people who see a flying car and say, "Awesome!"
Not people who see a flying car and say, "It's not actually flying" or "I don't see the point."
This post is not about cars :)

I do hope professors across the IITs in India push back. While my sympathies are with the student and his family, you cannot go after someone for upholding the integrity of an exam. And then cry about brain drain.
Mumbai Police has booked Suryanarayan Dulla, an IIT Bombay faculty member, under multiple sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with a charge of abetment of suicide.

Someone once told me that fear of heights is not really the fear of falling but the fear that the irrational urge to throw yourself over the edge will become irresistible. True in my experience

Agreed! Gurgaon failed as a city based on infrastructure and rain brings the worst, the management from govt and planning is piss poor but the private development, availability of everything that is new in India and overall development compared to any other city in India is by far atleast 2X.
Once you have lived in Gurgaon, lived in nice places you have already got a glimpse of westerners culture, A significant part of my friends from overseas were made while I was in Gurgaon, thanks to privatisation there are many many expats living in Gurgaon, Europe/Japan/South America/ US and top it up with Delhi's elite neighborhood, Gurgaon adds a lot of flavors.
A big chunk of successful founders live in this city and the hostility for not knowing local language is least. The Airport connection is probably best in the country, 20 minutes and you reach the best Airport of India. The food scene is also world class, there's enough authentic cuisines which are being ran by natives. As a standard anything service or a product coming to India for the first time is almost guaranteed to start or have Gurgaon in the initial list.
The most debated topic, Gurgaon as a city compared to other NCR like Noida, loses in overall infrastructure and management but there are many other areas where Gurgaon will be second to none.
You often hear about rent issues where bachelor's aren't given house or there are various other restrictions. For most places in Gurgaon that doesn't exist. I never had any issue in getting any rental as someone who eats non veg or was single and never saw some one in live in having any problems.
Gurgaon is quite developed in a lot of things but unfortunately the govts over the years have failed the city! No city of that stature deserves that and Gurgaon is expensive.
Imagine there are a whole lot of people who pay a rent of 1/1.5 lkhs (1000-1500 dollars) per month and buildings like crest have 3.6 lkhs 3600 USD+/mo rent.
Living in Gurgaon for last 11 years and I have made the same jokes everyone makes. The waterlogging, the November air, cyber hub traffic at 6 pm. This city gets enough bad light online I feel
Here is what almost nobody says about this city.
If you love outdoors, Gurgaon gives you more than any city in India. Not one great facility. Density. Almost everything sits inside a ~30 minute drive, and none of it asks you to belong to a exclusive club.
- A first horse riding lesson for ₹549 at Janak Equestrian in Sector 67 and there are many more.
- A first shooting lesson for ₹999. Prime 10X, Sector 94. Air pistol and air rifle, pellets and coaching included, open to anyone above 10.
- A 10-lane, 400m synthetic athletics track at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 38. The same complex is a first-class cricket ground for Haryana.
- 18 holes of real golf with no membership Karma Lakelands takes walk-ins at ₹3,200 on a weekday. And a driving range in Sector 59 where you hit balls for a few hundred rupees.
- 270+ traditional climbing routes on Dhauj, 50 minutes out. A genuine trad crag with a no-bolt rule. Most people in this city do not know it exists. Indoor rock climibing options too on MG road.
- 392 acres of restored mining wasteland at Aravalli Biodiversity Park, 15 minutes from MG Road, free, with a 3.5 km jogging track and 185 bird species. IUCN made it India's first OECM site in 2022.
- Plenty of stadium size Cricket, Football grounds options that you can book in advance for groups.
- Karting from ₹600. A 4x4 track with 25 obstacles at Bandhwari.
- And this is besides all the usual sports swimming, badminton, tennis, table tennis, pickleball, padel which for most of us are within 10 minutes of home.
I dont believe any other cities offers so many outdoor options at such convenience.

advice for men, ages 23-29
this is the stage where life stops responding to motivation and starts responding to structure. intelligence alone is no longer enough. passion without direction turns into frustration, and potential without execution becomes another form of wasted time. excuses begin to expire and responsibility quietly takes their place.
you will rarely feel ready. waiting until you feel ready is how years disappear. most of your growth in this phase will come from acting while uncertain, learning while uncomfortable and moving before you have everything figured out.
the people getting ahead are not necessarily smarter or braver. they are simply willing to move while confused.
money becomes louder at this age. not because money suddenly becomes the meaning of life, but because life becomes expensive. your ideas, opinions and ambitions mean very little if you cannot sustain yourself financially. learn skills that solve real problems, create value and generate income. your ability to make yourself useful will become one of your greatest assets.
your friendships will change. some bros will grow with you, some will grow away from you and some will stop growing altogether. do not interpret every distance as betrayal. sometimes people simply become strangers because their lives are heading in different directions. let people evolve without resentment and do not force old relationships to survive new versions of you.
romantic choices also begin to carry consequences. loneliness can make you tolerate people who cost you peace, focus and years. do not confuse chemistry with compatibility or excitement with love. choose someone who brings enough clarity, stability and peace into your life.
love should complement your direction, not constantly compete with it.
discipline will now matter more than motivation. motivation is emotional and unreliable but discipline is quiet and repetitive. it is what keeps you moving when nobody is watching, nothing feels exciting and the results are still invisible.
comparison will try to consume you. social media will make it look like everyone is ahead, richer, happier and more accomplished. remember that you are comparing your full reality to carefully edited pieces of someone else's. you do not see their debts, advantages, support systems, failures or private struggles. build your life instead of competing with an illusion or pixel.
this is also the age when habits begin to become infrastructure. what you repeatedly do now will become increasingly difficult to change later. the things you neglect do not simply disappear, they compound. so do the things you build. your health, skills, relationships, finances, reputation and discipline are all quietly becoming your future.
ages 23-29 are not supposed to look impressive, they are supposed to be intentional. this is the season to build quietly, make mistakes cheaply, learn aggressively, protect your peace and become useful.
you are not behind just because your life has not taken shape yet.
your 20s are laying the foundation.
your 30s will reveal how well you built it.
save, bookmark and share.
buena suerte.

One of the most important (and overlooked) scenes in the Odyssey is the encounter with the Lotus-eaters.
After nine days at sea, Odysseus and his men finally reach dry land. They go ashore to collect water, and Odysseus sends three men to go explore.
When his men don't return, Odysseus begins to worry.
The men had met some of the islanders (the Lotus-eaters), "who did them no hurt, but gave them to eat of the lotus, which was so delicious that those who ate of it left off caring about home, and did not even want to go back".
Odysseus ends up having to drag his men back to the ships and quickly sail away.
One must understand the symbolic power of the lotus. Its danger is not in any physical threat. The lotus is so deadly because it overloads you with pleasure, taking away all sense of urgency.
In this state of pleasure and relaxation, you forget your mission and your purpose. The men who ate the lotus flowers completely forgot about everything of value in their lives: their homes, their families, etc.
It's easy to think the monsters and beasts are the most terrifying threats you face. But because they're so obviously dangerous and remind you that death is a real possibility, they alert you to the value of life, and remind you of why you're fighting. But the real danger is a life so comfortable that you forget what you were trying to do in the first place.
Statistically speaking, it's unlikely you'll ever go to war or die of famine. But it is certainly possible that an addiction to your phone will derail you from your mission. Abundance of food and entertainment is far more likely to destroy you than most physical threats.
Yes, you will encounter plenty of Sirens and Cyclopes in life. But the real threat, which you must fend off every single day, is that of the lotus flower: a delicious indulgence that brings you immediate satisfaction, and makes you forget what you were fighting for.

People underrate how much of Indian anxiety is rational.
When systems are low-trust, documents go missing, portals fail, brokers lie, roads are unsafe, and officials can harass you, hypervigilance is an adaptation.
This is why I think a lot of traditionally western approaches to anxiety and stress fail to treat Indian patients - they fail to take into account that the degree of dysfunction in our society is dialed up 10x compared to the West.

The US has suspended access to its most advanced AI models for every foreign national on earth - overnight, without notice.
For a country of India’s civilisational weight and geostrategic position, with its own unique security challenges, there is simply no alternative to building sovereign AI capability.
This moment makes that clearer than any policy argument ever could.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.
