We still remember and mourn for the violence and discrimination inflicted on LGBTQ+ people around the world. 💔
28 years ago today, Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old gay college student, died after being brutally beaten and left tied to a fence in Wyoming. His murder became a defining moment in the fight against anti-LGBTQ+ violence and helped inspire federal hate crime legislation in 2009.

A study looking at 20 years of health data found that women are diagnosed later than men for more than 700 diseases, with an average delay of four years. Delays in diagnosis are still a major barrier to equal healthcare. For example, only 2 in 10 women receive the correct menopause diagnosis the first time they seek help. Conditions such as endometriosis can take more than 7 years to be diagnosed correctly, leaving many women to deal with unnecessary pain and health problems for years. Let that sink in.
"I genuinely think that if it became illegal for doctors to blame women's health symptoms on their anxiety, the world would change. - Lili Reinhart

Anytime someone tries to make fun of humanities degrees as “basket weaving,” think of this. Basket weaving is a site of cultural and indigenous knowledges, fugitive ecologies, plants as material, oral traditions, folk wisdom, and artistry. This is so beautiful.
