As a hospital worker in North America, this is absolutely no surprise. Across the continent, those in power suppress any show of solidarity with the victims of genocide. It’s sickening.

🏥 NEWS | Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC fired social worker Claire Raizen after she refused to remove a small “Gaza Must Live” postcard from her desk, visible only to coworkers. “Complying with this order felt like it was going to compromise my most core ethical values,” said Raizen, whose family lost relatives in the Holocaust. In a July 10 call she recorded, oncology social work director Alison Snow told her “somebody has been [made] uncomfortable by” the postcard and it must come down, warning she’d face discipline for “willful insubordination” if she refused. Colleagues say her firing disrupted patient care and reflects a double standard, noting no action against staff displaying pro-Israel symbols. A petition protesting her dismissal has over 350 signatures.

🇵🇸🏴 A female Everton supporter went to the match with her two children and was told she had to remove her Palestine jersey in order to enter Hill Dickinson Stadium. Those who stopped her claimed the Palestine jersey was banned.
Do you have an explanation for this disgrace and hypocrisy, @Everton

This is a dark stain on football, and will always be remembered as such.
That UEFA nor FIFA did or said anything about the hundreds killed and complete anhialation of football in that region is deplorable.

Suzanne shoush article warned the Canadian government not to repeat history. And yet history is repeating itself with deliberate starvation imposed on gaza.
This article was published over a month ago.
@AnitaAnandMP and @MarkJCarney inaction will land them in the Hague.
Must read in @readthemaple by Dr. Suzanne Shoush.
“As I held that starving little girl in my arms, light as a feather, I felt the immense weight of historical destruction. I also felt the strength of our resilience. She has gone on to heal, thrive, laugh and live — like all Indigenous people, from Turtle Island to Palestine, should.
Meagre words in a joint statement and crumbs of aid would not have saved her. She survived because of generations that have fought, and continue to fight, for access to health care, water, food, medicine, and basic human rights in the face of brutal policies of genocidal erasure. May this fight continue.”

Wait. Are you saying countries that perceive other countries as threats can just go bomb them unprovoked? This is your position?
These are the kind of statements that will go down in the history books.

Iran’s nuclear program has long been a cause of grave concern, and its missile attacks across Israel threaten regional peace.
Today, I convened our National Security Council to receive an update on the situation and to ensure that all necessary steps will be taken to protect our nationals and our diplomatic missions in the region.
Canada reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and to ensure its security. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and move towards a diplomatic resolution.

The Palestinian national team 2-0 win over Kuwait puts them just one point behind Oman in the race for a World Cup qualification playoff spot.
One game left.
Oman up next.
History on the line. For the flag. For the people. For the cause.

After more than 20 years of service, Arsenal fired former kit man Mark Bonnick. Not for any wrongdoing but simply for standing with Palestine.
There was no misconduct. No hate. Just solidarity.
@Arsenal must apologise, reinstate Mark, and stop silencing support for Palestine.

This legislation will be weaponized to suppress legitimate and peaceful protests against illegal activities.
We will make it a criminal offence to intentionally and willfully obstruct access to any place of worship, school, or community centre. #Debate2025

Go to this spot any day of the week and you will see evangelical Christians preaching without issue. I’m glad to see our Canadian Muslim brothers and sisters exercising their right to religious expression. If this makes you uncomfortable, they aren’t the problem, you are. It is this hate and ignorance which has poisoned our country.

I’ve watched you from afar and never said anything for two main reasons. 1 being the respect I have for your brothers and parents & 2 I’ve always wanted to keep the in fighting between folks of color to a minimum.
This was something I couldn’t let go -
I’ve known you since I was ten years old and played with you so I’d say I know you better than most at a deeper level. You were a hell of a player and instead of using your platform you did everything in your power to gain acceptance and popularity, nothing with you has ever been genuine but transactional and usually for publicity reasons.
Even during this most sensitive time both politically and socially you take the side of the oppressor because that’s who you make your money from. I would of thought the “love” you have always claimed for your country, a country you represented at the highest levels would shine through to push back on rhetoric of annexation and humiliation of the very land you are born and raised in, but even that doesn’t get you to do the right morally.
This is the reason why every place you have played - no one liked you and players on the inside have always known who you really are - a sell out of the highest proportions. You are the perfect example of why people of color haven’t progressed at the highest levels of society. From one man to another, you’re a disgrace and history will judge you accordingly.

Some personal news-
After almost a decade, I have left Sinai Health. I am grateful for the many kind and generous people who have been my colleagues, and to the beautiful patients and families who have welcomed me into their homes over the years.
I grew up under apartheid in South Africa without equal rights. My parents and grandparents spent most of their lives as lesser humans under the law. We know apartheid in our souls when we see it. Most of the close friends I have made over the last year come from families who have experienced colonial violence and genocide. There is a reason so many of us around the world see parts of our struggles in Palestine.
There is nothing antisemitic or unprofessional in speaking out against the mass slaughter, kidnapping, and torture of our colleagues, the bombings of hospitals, and the crimes against humanity of extermination that have been committed by Israel against Palestinians – crimes on a scale unprecedented in our lifetimes.
There is nothing antisemitic or unprofessional about seeing Palestinians as human beings deserving of liberation, freedom, and safety.
I will never ever regret opposing genocide, apartheid, and occupation –and the complicity and involvement of our own governments and institutions in these crimes.
I am grateful to accept a position working in Indigenous health under the leadership of the incredible and inspiring Dr. Suzanne Shoush.
Thank you to every person who has supported me over the last 16 months. Your words, messages, and solidarity have meant more to me than you will ever know.
From Palestine, to Turtle Island, to South Africa, to Sudan, to Congo and beyond – we will not be silenced. Free all of our people – from all rivers, to all seas.

Most people forget (or never knew) that one of Doug Ford's first acts as Premier in 2018 was to roll back rent control in Ontario.
And guess what happened?
Yep, average median rent in Ontario went from $1203 in 2018 to $2329 in 2024, a 93.6% increase.
Vote this fucker out.
Homelessness has soared in Ontario since the last provincial election.
A report released in January showed that between 2022 and 2024, the province’s known homeless population shot up by 25 per cent to 81,515 people. trib.al/VY7gAFn
