Went back to the Fold 8 Ultra. Loved the better cameras. Loved having a zoom ND a 200 MP main camera. Loved how it hooked up to my gaming controller. Now going back again to the Fold 8 for a change

This one feels timely with iPhone Duo reviews going live. There are hiccups with Duo, and they will be annoying for a bit. Apple has built phones for many years, yet there are still day one issues - but that doesn't mean things won't get cleaned up. Same goes for Googlebook.
From Apple's M1 Mac transition to the first Pixel phone, major platform leaps take time. Here is why Googlebook's solid foundation deserves patience. chromeunboxed.com/googlebook…

If you are looking for a case for you Z Fold 8, this is a great case from @thinborne . Which means they probably have great cases for the iPhone Duo too!

So who is going to be the 1st one to remove the nano texture screen protector on the iPhone Duo?
I get putting the Dock on the right hand side, but having this big bar getting in the way of you and your apps every time you open it, that's a BIG negative. Remember this is the "optimized" app layout. I don't like it at all. I hope Android doesn't copy this

We can criticize the iPhone duo ... In fact we absolutely SHOULD criticize the Duo...but let's not pretend like it's not an impressive first gen foldable

@MKBHD's take on the iPhone Duo
• Basically a 120Hz iPad mini that fits in your pocket
• Hardware and animations feel really polished
• Cameras are "good enough," but no ProRes or Log
• Under-display selfie cam is rough for photos
• Heavier, thicker, and apps aren't optimized yet
• At $2,000, it's for enthusiasts and multitaskers, not the average user

i LOVED the first pixel fold. Such an awesome form factor. The thing that got me to ditch it was the weight. It was way to hefty for me, and i just couldnt get "use" to it. Definitely matters.

The inner Camera on the iPhone Duo works exactly as intended. It’s not meant for taking photos or videos but for everyday FaceTime calls; you won’t even notice the quality. We are both using the camera here @mweinbach
Reviewers that said the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold isn't worth it because it's got an outdated design and it's too heavy. They praised the Z Fold 8 for dropping the weight. Those same people now praise Apple for bringing magsafe and dust resistance. The Pixel Fold is underrated imo

Funny how they said the pixel fold wasn't worth it due to its weight and thickness but now it's ok, the Duo has very similar shortcoming s that the pixel fold 10 and 11 had but they are being talked about very differently
As it should be. They've been reiterating this formula for years. Give it 6 months. Apple will have way more apps that are optimized probably. App developers are going to jump all over this phone and finally develop for foldables. Because they use iPhones in their personal lives, they will naturally develop more for Apple than they will for android. Unfortunately
I'm excited for people to try out the iPhone Duo. For many Apple users this will be their only taste of a foldable phone and it's going to do many things better than Android foldables on the market. But it has flaws like every foldable. It's heavy. And I love how @MKBHD put it
Can we enjoy something and praise it while still admitting that the iPhone Duo isn't the only foldable out there? MKBHD just said it feels a little first gen with the hardware. Why? The weight. It's okay for him to say it and not me? It's a great phone. But not the only fold
The iPhone Duo will expose one of the biggest problems we've had with foldables for years. Heavy foldables phones become a pain. A lot of people use foldable phones closed, and after doing that for awhile they ask themselves, why use this heavy brick closed when I could use a traditional phone with a far better camera for way less money? And they go back to a traditional phone. We are talking about a phone that is like 20% heavier than the Z Fold 8. It's something you will barely notice in quick demos. But it is something that is a MASSIVELY big deal.
The screen protector is a nice trick to avoid the crease reflections, but the crease is nearly as present as it is on the Z Fold 8.
In reality, this is a great foldable, but it's like a Pixel Fold vs a Galaxy Fold 8. The Pixel Fold has water resistance and it is heavier, but it has better durability. There are pros and cons.
So the iPhone Duo will have a lot of pros, and I'm very happy that Apple users will finally get a fun foldable, a great foldable. But it will have cons, and they need to be pointed out. So enjoy the foldables. But please, especially creators, educate your audiences.
Apparently weight doesn't matter in a foldable. Everyone says you just get used to it....
It doesn't matter to everyone. But it does matter. The weight is a trade-off and it's going to be worth it to many. But also not worth it to some
