RIP Juan Atkins, who annexed the intergalactic terrain one dimension further than even Kraftwerk and Funkadelic, a creator of sleek, metallic, funky beats like a cybernetic assembly line on Mars, whose techno inventions influenced everyone from Dilla and Danny Brown to video game soundtracks to any house/techno producer who ever wanted to know what the future might sound like. And we still haven't caught up.

On what planet is this a good use of public funds? In what world is fracturing children’s bodies on public transit a service to the public?

If you’re a human being, please explain to me like I’m five how you make peace with this. Politicians have proven themselves to be incapable of being in the positions of power they hold. cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/…

Challenge this narrative of blaming patients. We have a primary care shortage and gaps between specialist care follow-up even when you do have access. When I had an abnormal result and unclear follow-up results, the specialist dropped it instead of following up as promised.

Rest in power Juan Atkins. This shit low-key ruined my day. Not only did he basically invent techno and trailblaze it but he was also a mentor when I first got curious in techno as a teen. He was one the first older dudes to encourage me to stick with it and become a DJ.
